rep is short for repetition, doing the same thing over and over. set is how many groups of reps you do. doing 3 sets of 12 reps means you do the same thing 36 times.

Rep means repetitions, and you do so many "sets". You do 3 sets of 10 repetitions, that equals 30 in all.

Rep mean repetition (one complete movement). Set means the number of times you do the repetition (complete movement). For example: one crunch is one "rep" and if you do 40 crunches it is one "set" of 40 "reps" or two "sets" of 20 "reps"

rep means REPITITIONS
like ..you do 10 reps of bench press...that means you count up to ten when doin it..
set means a group of reps...
like, you do 2 sets of sit-ups, 10 reps each...that means you do 10 sit-ups, rest for a little while...then do another 10. that's 2 sets of sit-ups.
