how do i convince someone that i love them and want to be with them long term without going overboard??

Do not move in like someone said. Tell them that you love them. they should believe you. Call at good times, be a really good person to them. If you really love them and they love you, it should work out well.

First of all you shouldn't have too convince anyone that you love them.
You should show love for them too feel love.
Secondly you should be sure its love to know if you're going overboard or not. (sometime its just lust).
