I could move into the Louvre and die happy...but I also love contemporary art like Thomas Kinkade, the "painter of light".

LOL @ anon...yes, I understand you completely. No comparison really when it comes to the "wow" factor...but still he has something unique and beautiful too...but remember, people painted "the times" when they painted. I think there was more inspiration in the past.

PS: Awesome paintings everyone...just beautiful...I really love the greeting card artist too...

Don't mean to cast dispersions on your taste in art but you mention the Louvre and Thomas Kinkade in practically the same sentence and made by eyeballs bleed, so I must now go flush them out.

Michelangelo's Creation of Adam, part of the mural appearing on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome.

Another favorite is Charles Vickery's Moonlight and Surf, a signed and numbered print of which my wife gave me for my birthday about 20 years ago.

I can't pick an exact favorite painting, but the my favorite artist is Thomas Kinkade. Anything he paints takes my breath away so all of his paintings are my favorite.
