I am finally secure in who I am. Guys always look at me in public but never approach. A friend of mine told me before he got to know me he found me intimidating but never said why. I am friendly to anybody that approaches even if I really don't want to talk to them. I really don't understand why anyone would find me intimidating other than the fact that I when I don't know people I am kind of shy at first. What could make a girl intimidating?

I find a girl that's intimidating to be:
-taller than me
-extremely attractive
-has a scowl on her face
-gives icy glares

Sometimes intimidation, comes from what we feel or how we perceive people feel. If someone looks shy (as you say you are) then that shyness may come across as possible being a closed up person. Hold you chin up high and smile, give you smile some personality if you can - between the eyes and ones smile, intimidating is nearly impossible.
Unless the guys that are looking at you are so insecure they just don't get it, some are like that - shy as well.

Your confidense can intimidate many people, due to there lack of confidense in themselves. Some may see something in you that they feel they can't live up to. Believe me, that's a personal issue and has nothing to do with you. Just be glad that you got it going on and know the right guy "will" approach you without any problem. Best Wishes!!

Certain men find confident women very intimidating. I think it has something to do with that women being strong on her own without being some dude's arm candy?? On the same hand however, some men are very attracted to an independent woman. I depends on who you are. You said you were friendly so it must be a matter of perception. Put yourself out there hon =]

There is nothing wrong with you, you are just a confident person. Some people your age may not be as secure with who they are as you are so they label you as intimidatiing. Don't worry about how guys look at you if you are secure with who you are. When you attract guys, you will attract the ones who see you as a secure person, not an intimidating one, and they will be confident, secure people also, and that's the kind of guy you want anyway.

Their looks. Sometimes a guy won't go up to a girl bcuz he's out of her league . Guys also find very confident girls intimidating. So try not to show it so much.

There are those pretty looking gals who can off as an intimidating person..
and there are those kinds of faces that are just so.. innocent.
you probably emit a strong personality as well... (born from your new found security in who you are)

well some girls appearance just makes it seem like they are too good, or are not interested in the confrontation even IF they r friendly when the guy finally comes up
just try to seem more opening? or stop being so damn hott cuz thats intimidating too

When I was in high school, people told me I always looked like I was ready to beat someone up. I don't know how i give off that impression, but lots of my guy friends told me I was too tough. I'm usually really shy and timid tho, and keep to myself.
