I tried to fry hash brown potatoes in my new uncoated stainless steel frying pan (on medium high heat) and they stuck like mad. What is the best way to avoid this?

You can either use cooking oil or spray which ever you prefer. However the tempurature is what lies in affect. It all boils down to what kind, ex. mashed, sliced, diced or even aurgart in a pan. the temp. range varirys for each one and the time allowed to cook them, hope this helps.

If its a new pan try and prove it. get your pan (hope it does not have a plastic handle) load it with salt and bake it in a really hot oven for a couple of hours, Ive done it before, no promises but it worked for me.

A little oil and a lot less heat. Potatoes take time.
