For going US from India on visit visa. What are the correct steps?

I have some doubts

After I pay visa application fees at HDFC bank, whether I have to contact VFS office..?

If yes, what I have to submit for going on Tourist visa

Whether VFS will tell me visa interview date or I have to get from consulate

Please help me for step by step information

From paying fees (first step) to Landing in US

Also let me know how much time it will take if I apply now..?

Pay the fees at the bank and after paying, contact the US Embassy for an appointment. Prepare your passport, employment or school records, bankbooks, land titles and other documents to show that you will return to India after your visit to US.
