1st - you are taking a statement by the Pope and calling out ALL christians because of it. All churches and religions (even Ghandi's and Hussain's use propaganda like this. Learn a little about the religion instead of taking one statement and making a blanket assumption about its followers..

Ghandi and Saddam's religions both follow similar guidelines that christianity does. There is a god, there is good and evil, there are ways to be "saved" by religion for your afterlife. Look at ALL of the religions in the world, they all follow the same basic premise, they just differ in their rules, and in their origins for their religion.

Also, the Pope is the head of the Roman Catholic Church. Catholicism is a branch of christianity. Everyone who asks this, or similar questions should learn this before trying to bask its followers. Christians did not say all other religious worshipers will go to hell, it was the head of the Catholic Church, and if you read the entire statement, you'll also see that he didn't just say "if you aren't catholic, you will go to hell." There's a bigger picture involved in it.

To answer your question, based off of what the Pope said, Ghandi and Saddam will go to hell. But Ghandi and Saddam were not Catholic, so they feel that these "rules" do not apply to them. Instead, they probably would go by the rules of the religions that they each followed.

God is just and judges the heart and not the labels
Fundamentalist Protestants and Fund. Muslims believe only their own avoid Hell but that will not be because God is not only just but good, kind, compassionate, loving and gracious.

Faith alone, that is belief with conviction without any love or love-fruits or faith-works or good deads, is frudluent and cannot save.

James 2:24-26 Faith without works is dead
1Cor13:2 Faith without love is dead and pointless
Matt7:21 not one who cries Lord but the one who does Divine Will goes to Heaven
Matt19:16 keep the commandments if you want to enter everlasting life.

That's what Christians say. I've always wondered why people still follow Christianity.

"...One day a 5 year old boy squashed a bug and thought to himself, 'That was fun!'. He lived his whole life killing people and destroying things and inflicting pain on others. He was never caught and for 80 years he had done nothing but destroy and inflict pain. On his death bed he realized that God was real and 'accepted Jesus into his heart as his savior' and knew god loved him. He was frgiven of his sins and God let him into Heaven."

"...For the 5 years of his life, a boy was taught to be nice, kind, and respectful and always be a good godfearing man. One day he accidentally stepped on a bug and thought, 'How horrible! What have I done?' For 80 years of his life this man was always nice and had NEVER done anything in his life that had even caused anyone any discomfort. On his death bed, he knew he was going to heaven because he was always open to god and Jesus, and he was a good Christian. The day before before he died, this man lay on his deathbed to learn that another man, the opposite of him who had been killing and murdering all his life had just killed every relative he had. He thought, 'How could a god do this to me?!? There can't be a god or Jesus!!! There just can't be!!!'. He died the next day, and went to Hell for all eternity to roast and be tortured."

That's how Christianity works. People say to accept god into your heart, when he will cast you into a firery pit to roast for all eternity on a seconds notice. Does that seem like god loves you???

Yes, for both did not fully and wholly believe in Christ. They both were not born of God, born of the Spirit, They both didnt follow him only and called out to LORD God Almighty. They also didnt confess with their mouths that Jesus is LORD, They aslo didnt ask for the remission of sins. They also were not filled with the Holy Spirit.

and unless you have done the same you too will likewise perish.

If there was a Hell and the Christians handbook was correct, yes. They would be smoking a turd in Hell together as we speak. Strange, isn't it?

Yes, they both are in hell.

But since hell is not a place of punishment or torment of fire, it does not matter does it. All who die go there.
