Am I missing something in my diet? Why do I crave cheese? It's my favorite food. Oh, it doesn't matter what kind. I love all cheese really. This is a strange craving...Is there something else not as fattening that I can substitute?

It's not strange, and I doubt it means there is something lacking in your diet. Cheese is just....tasty. Try using lower fat versions, but steer clear from the fat free....they tend to be rubbery.

I wouldnt know what triggers that craving, but let me give you an advice. EAT cheese every once in a while. now im not saying stuff yourself, but eating a piece or two every now and then will only add up about 20... to 50 ... maybe 70?.. depending on how big the pieces are.
this will help because it will stop that craving you have and it will not be a significant amount of calories to affect your weight loss.
I say now and then rather than giving a specific time, because that would really depend on how much you have the craving... but really be smart about it. you wont fool anyone byt yourself if you start eating cheese all the time.

I certainly dont believe it is calcium deficiency.
your body wont ask you for calcium by craving cheese. More complicated mechanisms have been developed to maintain calcium levels where they should be.
calcium is important for bones.. yeah everyone knows that, but the reason why it is so important to keep calcium at the correct levels is because your heart and every other muscle in your body needs calcium to contract and relax.
in the end, the calcium will be coming out of your bones to maintain that calcium in your blood where it should be.

remember, 1 or 2 bites wont kill you, but certainly might help with the craving

Maybe you're missing calcium so your body craves cheese? I'm not entirely sure, but I am the same way. I could be content eating an entire block of cheese.

I read in an article that ifyou are really craving cheese, to just cut yourself a slice and enjoy it. Low fat cheeses etc will cause you to end up eating more and still crave the real cheese.

Maybe try some almonds? For some reason almonds kill my cravings.

While certainly high in calcium, cheeses, which are animal proteins, are also high in fat. So, if you're overweight and don't exercise regularly, it could become a problem, over time. Personally, although I would never give up cheese, I have noticed that yogurt and silky tofu offer similar textures and flavors. Both vanilla yogurt and plain tofu may be augmented with flavorings of virtually any kind, such as granola, berries, and even chocolate pieces! Variety is the spice of life, and all things in moderation! Enjoy!

don't worry! I crave cheese all the time, and my doctor has no problems with it. My does, however, because I am always eating every bit of cheese in the house. If not anything else, you could become a master of cheese!

My guess would be calcium.

Low fat low sodium cheeses are best.

I love cheese too.
