ok so im filling out a job application and it asks:
provide a statement about yourself that specifically demonstrates sesitivity to the nees of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of comunity college students...

what do they mean?
any suggestions?

They want to know how you treat people in general.
Say, " I see people as individuals, not as a member of any particular group". I hope others see me this way too.

They want to know if you have "problems" with anyone due to race, religion, sexual orientation, level of wealth, physical/mental disabilities, etc.

In other words, if you're a KKK member, they want to know *now* instead of when the lawsuit hits. That way they can "find a more suitable candidate" right away.

If you do have problems dealing with certain types of people (whether personality types or attitudes, or persons of any specific minority), let them know up front. That way they can minimise the likelyhood of you having to deal with that type of person on a regular basis...assuming you are "hirable" for the position.
