I think religion fills a void in some people's lives, people who need to share a sense of community, who need to refer to others from time to time for a reference point on what's acceptable, who need the validation that they belong to a group of like-minded people.

To some, it's scary creating your own ideas and embracing or rejecting certain concepts of faith because it might be wrong.

On the down side, religion is one way that power hungry men can gain control of the minds of large groups of people without getting into politics. All they have to do is declare they're a preacher and they have many ears who will listen and hang on their every word.

Frankly, I think more harm has been done in the name of religion than good.

The purpose of Religion is made up of different factors, it's what you believe in and the word of God or whomever you believe in, the purpose of Relgion is another way for man (humankind) to understand life, everyone think's their religion is the one to abide by for me it's Christianity. It's what man thinks in the basic princible for living your life correctly and in some cases getting rewarded by it.

Religion is the attempt of man to connect with a Holy God. It will never work. Christianity is God's attempt to connect with man. No man comes to God but through Jesus Christ. So it's God's way or the highway.

Was set up in the old days cos they didnt have much tv and it was kind of like a law. Churchmen of the real old days kind of hid behind their religion and used it as a power trip to control and scare people
