I would go with Asterix. Lots of good historical references there!

Depends on what kind of child you want to raise. Alice in Wonderland was written by an opium addict. The Bible and the Quran are chock-full of violence, murder, intrigue, but do generally instill good morals. Harry Potter is a bit lighter on the violence, but still instills very good morals, and is beautifully written. For something around bed time, I recommend A Little Princess, Or The Secret Garden. Island of the Blue Dolphin, and Where the Red Fern Grows, and Little Women are also great books.

it depends on the age of the children under 10 I would say Astrix or tin tin you could read Alice in wonderland to them.
harry potter is great for 8 + but you may need to read it I think they could read it if the are book worms. the bible or quran you could read to them I would not advise letting them read it alone until they are 15 + I always had bible story books with specific story's for the children.

Give them every book ever written. But be sure you have read it first and be available to answer questions. In your answering, do it to help them grow not to stifle them in to a belief.

None of the above. You should get them It by Stephen King. That'll keep them away from clowns forever.
