It could be related to anxiety - if she is experiencing anxiety when she is stressed or scared then it can result in fainting or blacking out. With anxiety the body goes into a false 'fight or flight' even though there is no danger & if she is unaware of how anxiety affects her is could be causing her to hyperventilate - lack of oxygen will cause the fainting.

The easting disorder could just be another 'symptom' of anxiety - causing the lack of appetite or nausea & vomitting.
She needs to pinpoint what is happening to her...for example some symptoms of an anxiety disorder are tingling sensation (due to lack of air), nausea, headaches, heart races, blood pressure rises, fear sets in & even fainting. Once she is able to pinpoint if it is anxiety & her exact reaction to it she can then start to control it. She needs to be aware of her symptoms & how they affect her & when they begin she can calm herself down. By saying to herself - nothing is happening & folowing the anxiety mentally as well - "My heart is racing but it is okay".

If she isn't experiencing anxiety but is still fainting & refuses to see a doctor there isn't much else you can do. Would she go if you went with her? Maybe seeing a Dr. is part of the anxiety??

If she is eating properly, sleeping properly & having regular periods & bowel movements then she is probably okay but if not she does need to see someone.

Make sure she isn't drinking too much alcohol or doing drugs as well - sometimes when we take things that aren't perscribed they can have weird effects on our bodies...no 2 people will ever react the exact same when taking the same medication.

Explore some options with her & find out why she is so afraid of the Dr. Maybe help problem-solve it with her. "Would you go to a clinic if I came in to the Dr,'s rom with you?" etc.
Let her know you care & are concerned - maybe if she thinks you are really worried (which it sounds like you are) then she will 'do it for you' kinda thing.

If you live in Canada there is a free telephone service with nurses on call 24 hours a day called Telehealth - you can remain nameless & she can be assessed over the phone & they will tell her if she needs to see someone. I'm not sure of the options in the U.S.

Talk to your parents - they may have some ideas - they may also influence her. Good luck! I'm glad she has a boyfriend like you to take care of her! :0)

What Violet Pearl said. Definitely enlist your girlfriend's parents' help, since your girlfriend isn't well able to help herself.

And yes, she should have small snacks more often. She didn't do herself any favors when she started denying herself much-needed nutrition.

And she needs to find another way to deal with stress.

Good luck!

This could be many things, does she have any past medical history for instance Diabetes, epilepsy? They could explain parts of it. As you say, she could well be exhausted, however, the again only fits to part of the symptoms. I think she should see her doctor if this happens again, or if she feels anything different to 'normal'.
