The idea of asking this question is, you talk so much about jesus, his teaching etc etc, the bible, but are we as humans being honest with ourselves? Arent we destroying our body in the name of fun? I like the way each and every one of you giving lame excuses for drinking.

I dont like any of the answers

For one thing, a Christian should and most of the time would only drink in moderation, not too much, just a little alcohol at a time. Smoking and drugs are much more harmful for you than a little alcohol, and they're wrong because of how harmful they are. The bible says that the body is a temple of the holy spirit if you're a Christian, and you should keep it healthy. A tiny bit of alcohol here and there will not hurt you. Smoking and drugs would. It is also hard to take those in moderation because they're more addictive.

Wine and alcohol in moderation is okay. Note, I said moderation. Drinking to the point of drunkenness is never good; neither is drinking and driving. However, smoking can really harm the smoker and others around him or her. I know. Both my parents smoked and I constantly had bronchitis and still have similar problems today. As far as drugs go, the majority of them are also harmful. I don't think it's possible to do meth, crack, or heroin in moderation. Most drugs can also really harm a person.

Alcohol can be beneficial in moderate amounts. As long as you don't get drunk or develop a habit, you should be okay. Smoking is harmful period. Even a cigarette per week will damage your lungs eventually. Most drugs are the same way; unless you use them for occasional medicinal purposes, you're just destroying your body.

Look, everything is put here to be used by man. If one is drinking to get drunk , then NO that's not OK. Drugs can be used to help cure and relive sickness and illnesses good, taken to get HIGH, NO that's not OK. And even smoking although it is not good for you I think if it too doesn't become a habit and you become dependent on it ,then OK. A pack a day habit or more isn't OK. When we abuse anything it goes against GODS will.

The reasons are pretty obvious don't you think?
Are there really any good things that come from smoking or taking drugs?

because smoking is killing you. and taking drugs alters the mind. though drinking in excess can do the same, the bible does say not get drunk.

If you want to smoke and take drugs, go ahead. It's your life. Not everyone will accept Jesus as our savior. If you don't accept him, that's certainly your choice. Again: it's your life. Live it your way.

If people want to...Christian or not...that is up to them. Our bodies ARE the temple of the Holy Spirit, this is true...but - I don't judge. I don't smoke (I quit one year ago). I don't use drugs. But - if womeone wants to...I don't judge.
It's like St. Paul says:
Romans 14: Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. 2 For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. 3 Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. 4 Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand. 5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. 7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
