Well here in California they go outside at least 10ft from doors and windows (there is often a designated spot with an ash tray). The no smoking ban here has raised restaurant prices considerably almost 100% in some cases and forget about cocktails. Dining out is still uber casual but since the smokers were the lingering and paying type you can look forward to paying 200 for a good meal and bottle of wine at a place that used to be 100 before the law. Basically they have become shunned here and it stinks. Dining out isn't as fun anymore and there is far less laughter in resturants and clubs. I am not a smoker but I miss them.

A few clubs in Cardiff have a roped off area so that people can go and have a smoke in peace, you get a little ashtray so you don't litter the streets and the bouncers supervise so people don't get unautorised access via the smokers exit. Here in hereford you still have to go outside, some places give you a little chitty so you can get back in without paying again but some bars have beer gardens so you can still smoke on the premises but in the open air.

The question of smoking in clubs and pubs have been in the news just lately and the law is that smokers have to go outside to smoke..but the club manager must close the windows so as the smoke does'nt drift indoors.

I pretend to smoke a small straw. Half of the addiction to smoking is the arm jestures involved in it. You can inhaul and exhaul then put it to your mouth and away. Chem gum or just go outside and smoke.

they have to go outside.
many bars have smoking areas outside, but as for a club, I'm not sure how that'll work, whether people will be allowed in and out...

There are designated outdoor smoking areas. Some places have even especially built areas for the new laws.
Otherwise, everybody would be hanging around the entrance, blocking the way and smothering it in smoke and butts.
