Mosquito bites usually don't get bigger. Some spider bites like that of a brown recluse can be very damaging. If the area surrounding the bite is red and increasing in size, you should see a doctor just to be safe. You may want to draw a circle around the outside of the bite (where the reddness stops) and see how fast it's growing. This may help the doctor gage how serious the problem is as well.

If you can see puncture marks they are more likely to be spider bites than mozzie bites. However I thin you should take some anti histamines, these tablets are specifically designed for the inflammation of bug bites. Polaramine tablets are the best they last up to 12 hours and stop itching and swelling. You can get these at any pharmacy or Savlon cream its antispetic so if you do need to have a scratch the cream will stop any infection. Hope this helps

If the red area is swelling up, then go to your doctor...you're either very allergic to the bite, or it's a spider bite.

When I had my brown recluse bite, it looked like a mosquito bite at first, then the red kept getting larger, then the red started welping up (getting tall), then I got this red line that started moving up...and mom took me to the doctor, and he said that was the poison in my blood starting to move up toward my heart.

So, be safe, get it checked to make sure.

Take benedryl. Stop scratching. Scratching can lead to an infection. If they keep growing (I mean like larger than 4 inches across) and feel hot to the touch and bright red, get to the doctor, you might need antibiotics.

Sorry, don't mean to scare you, just keep an eye on it. Some people (like me) are just more sensitive to bug bites and they get more swollen than on others. In the future, as soon as you get bit, take benedryl and remember not to scratch!
