Guten Morgen = good morning
Guten Abend = good afternoon or good evening
Gute Nacht = good night
Vielen Dank = thank you very much
Bitte, können Sie mir helfen = please can you help me
Sprechen Sie English = do you speak English
Ich bitte um Entschuldigung = I´m sorry
Bitte is always please, if someone thanks you for something, you can say bitte sehr, meaning, you are welcome.
Austrians and Germans are rather formal, so just don´t go to a stranger and say hello. Perhaps it works nowadays, maybe, cheque it out youself.
A good advice: buy a German/English dictionary and vise versa. Enjoy your visit in Austria!

Hello/Good day = Guten Tag (goo-ten targ)
Goodbye = Auf Wiedersehen (owff veeder-zeh-en)
I am [your name] = Ich bin (ikh bin)
Do you speak English? = Sprechen Sie English? (shpr-ekh-enn zee)
Thanks = Danke (dan-keh)
There are way to many useful phrases to list. It would take me all day. Just ask them to speak English, but ask in German (use the "Sprechen Sie English") as it is often very appreciated if you attempt to say even just a word in German.
