because flinging poo is cool!

i mean c'mon... nothing is more of an insult... "Hey, I don't like you... here's my poo in your face." SERVED! well maybe throwing tampons is a greater insult... but you know me... I look for any reason to bring up tamps, BWA HA HA!!! (evil laugh)

if everyone flung poo instead of having guns the world would be a better place!

*mental image* ...hmm maybe not...

in reality they don't worship ALL monkeys... only trunk monkeys

The Hindu religion has many gods. It has something to do with a mythical character named Hanuman. He was some kind of a monkey man tha apparently saved a bunch of people in this legend. i have been to third world countries where they really get into the monkey God. So to answer the question it represents a mythological character.
I am ok with it if they want to worship monkeys, people have done a lot worst things.

I've heard of some Hindus worshipping a monkey god. I don't know why; the same reason why they would worship cows, I guess.

The Hindu religion bosts of over 3 million deities (how does one keep track of all those gods and goddesses anyway).

The Christian faith only has One God.

first of all the picture is not of a monkey, i'm surprised at how many of the imbeciles couldn't tell secondly the color blue represents the divine and the inifinity of the universe because hindus believe in one god who is the essence of the universe, idol worship is symbolic, and i admit, it has gotten out of hand but it's really low and obnoxious to insult other religions, not just religions, but beliefs, grow up hindus tolerate every religion at least respect the religion or try to find out about the religion without asking condescending or sarcastic questions, it's just rude

hindus don't worship monkeys. They worship the Monkey God who is known as Hanumanji or Bhajrangboli. The monkey God can talk like humans and fight like a great warrior. Hanumanji is described in a book called ' Ramayan'.

They believe that the monkeys may not always have been monkeys, i.e. they may be important Hindus resurrected.

The same goes for rats at a certain temple.

Hindu's are not bound by worship. Their deities are reminders of human weakness and they concentrate on the means of improving their live by recognizing the weakness

I'm Indian but I'm not a hindu. I'm christian and I have many hindu friends. Even though they worship many things I still respect their culture and their religion. I think you should too despite how ridiculous it may seem.

Nobody worships monkey, they worship Hanuman, the monkey god who helped Rama.

Looks like you are a christian. When jesus can be born to a virgin and you worship a person born out of wedlock, (I hope you understand what I mean) why not worship a monkey god?

With well over 350 million Gods I think it's safe to assume they got just about everything covered.
