Is it ok to go to a non-catholic church from time to time.
I have found that some evangelical churches are very sincere and I do like the quality of the music.

In some cases the worship music will last for 30 minutes and it is very relective and helps focus on God.

Only issue I can see is with the sermon and possibility that the Pastor will use his own experience to make "truths" out of his interpretation of the bible.

Does anyone think it would be wrong to go or would it be better to stick to the catholic groups.

It may be a good way to encourage people to think a little more as well. Certainly as dialogue develops, I am not saying that I would go with the purpose of "enlightening" or "converting" people.

What do you think -

As a Christian Pastor I will say to you,

" You need to pray for God to show you if it is ok by giving you peace about it , one way or the other. Don't depend on a human being when dealing with your feelings about God...If you are sincere in your prayers of search to God, He will give you peace about the situation, either for or against".

What you are looking for can be found in the Catholic Church. Try to find a Charismatic parish in your area. Or a parish that offers a Charismatic Mass from time to time. You will find things like the longer music/praise/worship times.

Or you might just attend a regular Mass on Sundays, but find a Charismatic prayer group in your area. That is what I am currently doing and it's just what I need.

You could try contacting someone at your diocese office and inquire. I'm including a website below that you might find helpful.

I'm not sure where you live, but you could Google your area + Catholic Charismatic and see what comes up.

Please feel free to email me if you'd like more help/info. I'd be more than happy to help.

Pax et Bonum.

There is nothing wrong with SUPPLEMENTING your faith. I supplement my faith with many other TV Christains like Joel Olstein, Mellisa Scott, and Ed Young.

John Paul II meet with the Dallie Llama four times ... they were great at finding commonalities rather than differences. Since the death of JPII, Arch-Bishop Desmond Tu-Tu (from Africa) has continuted this open dialog with the Dallie Llama.

Caution: Don't take the "Eucharist" or "Reconcilliation" from non-catholics.

I was Catholic for years. There is nothing that special about the church except the treatment of kids by the priests.
