I have a large family so I know that its only going to get bigger but goodness. One of my sisters had a baby on mother's day. Another one is due in september. My brother's wife is pregnant with twins. And we just found out that my cousin is also pregnant with twins. I already have 8 neices and nephews. Christmas is going to cost a grip for years to come. Dont get me wrong, I am excited and cant wait for all the new babies to come but this is making me not want kids. Is that normal?

Well, family is the thing for your family. They like to breed. I think it's normal to be on baby overload if you are a young person and not ready yet. Frankly, thed good news is, if you never get ready, you can "rent a baby" from someone in your family if you get a maternal urge. You are surrounded with reasons to take your BCP on time and be careful.

For the love of God, y'all need to get a grip and draw names at Xmas. NO ONE should be expected to buy gifts for all that.

Why don't you suggest drawing names at Christmas. That would cut the cost down. Wow, lots of twins going on. Not sure how old you are but I bet you change your mind about having kids. I wouldn't trade the 2 I have for all the tea in the world. Tell everyone Congrats and Best wishes.

I think it's making you realize that you are not ready for kids, which is fine. It can get overwhelming.

Rather than spending a ton on Christmas gifts for all the little kids, do what I do -- I make something for each of the kids. Mittens (quick to stitch out of felt or old sweaters in their favorite colors, see instructions at Martha Stewart's web site), slippers, stockings filled with treats, friendship bracelets, CDs of great kids music, story books I wrote with their pictures in it, etc.

As the kids are getting older, I now bring a craft for the kids to work on together while the adults are visiting, usually a Christmas ornament for them to take home and put on their tree. They LOVE this experience and as they look at their ornaments every year, they remember all the good times we had together creating them.

I see your point, I too come from a large family, so we draw names at Christmas. Just think, out of all these little babies, there may be one that will care for you in your old age. Big families are fun.

Well, for Christmas do what my family dose (to many to buy for) Everyone buy for your own family! We buy only for birthdays cause they are easier to buy for. Some family's are bigger then others. I am the middle child of 5 and everyone has 3 to 5 kids I only have one and I adopted......lol
so don't worry someday you might want to have one and then maybe you wont but, you will know when the time is right...Good luck and enjoy your family....
