It is my belief that If you need faith, it's what works for you. I am fortunate to have been brought up to have spirtuality and faith, but unlike some religions, I don't believe "everyone" has that potential to have faith and that is why we must have faith for them. This includes children of severe autism or from severe dysfunctional violent cultures. If you are speaking of the average person (being someone of a high enough IQ and global awareness functioning score of someone who understands life reasonably) then still you must take in account dynamics of many degrees. Describe your search for what is good for you to fulfill your needs for spirituality and faith. For me, I am just really glad I had a grandmother who took the time to explain faith to me and was there until I became pregnant at 25 with my own first child. I miss her, but will always remember her for the faith she instilled in me.

I don't know, roxy? I can't imagine why they say this for you, but I love that song about thoughts being prayers to, so to me it's like saying, you are in my thoughts.

ffperki, I have a blue baby as well; he's 18 now. He has been my muse. I am sorry about your wife. My thoughts are with your family. What is your picture?

This is a great question as there are many folks that don't realize that there is a difference. I have a wonderful friend that is a Pentecostal minister, and I and my family are Catholic but my wife came down with Cancer, as soon as he was made aware of it, he invited us to a special healing prayer service. There were several people praying for my wife and they gathered around her and laid hands on her and prayed as they were praying some started to pray in tongues. This is spiritual but I would point out that there is all kinds of spiritualism, American Indian with their medicine man, or the sweat lodge, shamanism etc. Faith is a different deal it comes from with in each of us, it is the acceptance of something to be held by a person to be true no matter what. I am as good an example as I can think of. I have a IQ of 140 that may surprise some of you, and I am very much a believer in Jesus Christ. Understand that I can not prove Jesus but I still believe and that is with out question in me. I believe that Jesus died for my sins (and yours) and that he rose from the dead. further more I will add that I have a son that lacked O2 going to his brain as a small child, it is unfortunate that he has been left profoundly developmentally disabled (retarded) I believe that God also has a place in His kingdom for him as well. I have sounded a little bit preachy. I do NOT hold that you have to believe the same as I do, as I see it that is between you and your God I hope that that God is the same God as mine. I have made some what of an exception, I don't normally answer these types of questions as all together to often the asker is just trying to ridicule the person answering the question, to other folks answering this question Lady Lee isn't trying to do that so answer the way you would in a normal conversation.

I have faith that there is a higher power out there and that there is some sort of divinity and place we go when we die. I wouldn't be at all suprised if there wasn't and there was blackness when i died but i struggle to come to any conclusions about something that i just can't prove. I do not believe anyone on earth has it right as far as religion goes.

Faith to me is believing in something even when you don't want to believe. It's having the hope to continue through any situation knowing that God is working things out already on your behalf.

"Faith" is that immeasurable quality that is instilled in man, when man finally discovers that there is something greater than himself (or herself), and attributes that to an all encompassing power, known to man as "God". This quality is in short supply in the world today.
Spirituality is the process that man adheres to so that "Faith"
is allowed to blossom and eventually bear ripened fruit.

May we all blossom and bear ripened fruit to aid man in his hunger for the "Truth".
