You always feel like youve done a round with tyson when you have a good workout, it is true no pain no gain. Just stretch before you go out to make sure you dont pull anything and make sure you do have actual running shoes on, try to wear something soft and stretchy too so it doesnt rub and make you sore and stay away from logos on your tops around the nipple area as this gets real sore.

You are aching because you stretched your muscles and then didn't let them go back to normal.
You HAVE to warm down when you exercise or you are screwed from the next few days. No matter how much exercise you do you need to warm down. Do some simple squats, legs stretches, arm stretches, back stretches, it's quite hard to describe them over the computer but they are easy. Maybe go for a brisk walk to cool/warm down.
Tonight, take it easy, you don't want to damage anything. Still do the same amount of exercise but stop when it hurts.
Do your normal exercises and then warm down, you'll notice a difference. [Walking with tight calf muscles will help relieve the tention in them. I have done this many times, it's okay. It happens, it comes with being an elite athlete, haha]
Good luck, and remember - warm down!

A good stretch before and after a hot shower will loosen you up for sure and drink plenty of water. Or, if you have time, toss two cups of epsom salt in bath of slightly warmed water and soak til you begin to prune, then get out and stretch. You should really give your muscles a rest for a day before working them again. A walk should be fine but in the future, it's best to alternate the muscles you use ie. Mon Weds Fri upper body, Tues Thurs Sat lower. Cardio is always good, exercise is a really important part of physical health as well as REST .

Firstly, enjoy the feeling. A muscle sorene after working out is a good sign that you have pushed yourself just right! So you can be a bit smug. Wait til the soreness wears off if you want, but carrying on with light exercise isn't going to make you feel any worse. Choice is yours really. Always ensure you warm up for at least 5 minutes and cool down for 5 minutes, but this won't stop the soreness if you're pushing yourself hard.
Well done.

Yes, you can go walking, but make sure that you stretch first!! You should always stretch, and warm up with a walk and stretches of muscles before doing any sort of workout! Then after the walk (do not do muscle training today...your muscles need a chance to rest and heal), make sure you cool down with a slower pace, and some light stretches. Good luck!

you should give your muscles a little time to rest then take it easy exercising.
you should build up your exercise regime. start of easy then as you progress, you should build it up & also vary it so you dont get bored.
walking might even help your calves as it'll keep them mobile & let the blood flow to them.
warm up techniques are very simple. whatever type of exercise your doing should be a progression of the warm up. if you plan to go for a run, then your warm should consist of marching, jogging lightly, loosing the knees & stretching the muscles such as calf stretches & quad stretches. the neck & shoulders should also be warmed up by circling them & stretching the muscles gently.
the cool down is really the same thing.
hope this helps you!

The expression "no pain, no gain" is abused. If you push yourself to painful limits, you may, eventually, hurt yourself, possibly beyond repair. The correct expression should be "no STRAIN, no gain,", which means that you go just slightly above what you are currently capable of doing. This way, your body slowly becomes accustomed to the new stresses on it, and eventually becomes stronger with longer lasting (and healthier) effects. This is true of exercise, learning, and virtually any other thing you can thing of. Regardless, if you are considering any regular exercise, consult a doctor, first, because even the halest and heartiest athletes have problems that can kill them, if left undetected. you can, and actually should do some light exercise (it gets the blood flowing and speeds up recovery)... And whatever muscles feel sore, just stretch them, yes it's going to hurt when you stretch but do it anyway, of course don't try to do splits or anything just stretch the muscles out as much as you can (until it's uncomfortable) and hold for about 5-10 seconds. do it before and after your work out.
