Birth control pills carry a high-risk. A vasectomy carries almost no risk (less than getting a tattoo, or in-grown toenail removed). Recovery time, from a vasectomy is about 2-5 days. If you get female sterilization, you are taking 3-6 weeks. When you current health is thrown into the mix, it could take even longer.

A vasectomy has no side, effects, or scaring. He really does not need more kids. He should get it.

Don’t ever consider a vasectomy reversible. Reversal cost $5000, has a low success rate and it very painful, when compared to a vasectomy.

Why would you want kids anyway? They are overrated.

It is far better to regret not having children than to regret having an unwanted pregnancy.

One in five women, in the USA will choose not to. If you don’t have children you can maintain a youthful appearance into your late 40’s. I know because I only date women without children.

I had my vasectomy at age 21, and have no children. I know others that have done the same. We can pass for much younger than most people with children.

Well, for a woman going on the pill isn't a big deal. The side effects if any should be manageable.. AS LONG as you are able to follow the instructions on taking the pill everyday at the same time or at least one hour BEFORE or one hour AFTER the usual time.. There are many types of pills to choose from go and see your OBGYN and have a pap test done and tell her of any health issues to find what's best for you....As for your bf deciding on his own that he wants to get a vasectomy that's a big thing.. especially if YOU may want children down the line.. I have heard of a vasectomy reversing itself even after a year.. However, I think that you should go on the pill and save that agony for him when the time is right to not have anymore children... My husband just had a vasectomy a few weeks ago. We have decided that we want no more children.... Best of luck to you....

If you want kids in the future, don't have him get a vasectomy. If you don't want to use hormonal birth control (which I agree with) just use condoms.

Female hormonal birth control has a lot of negative side effects, and has been linked to a higher rate of breast cancer among other things. Explain to him your fears, and be firm about it. Condoms aren't great but they're better than poor health.
