As a long time distance runner, I hope I can help.
When you are running distances, remember that you should be running on your heels. Shorter sprints are run on your toes, but distance should be run on your heels. Just the correct form should help the long runs seem a little easier.
Also, the frequency of your running will help your stamina. If you are out running 5 days a week you will be doing a lot of good for your body and increasing your stamina. Try to do a "longest run ever" once a week and see how much farther you can go each week.
Good luck and happy running!

Train with long distance runs. I don't know how much you run now, but try going out for a jog for 20 minutes every other day, and then after a while go up to 30 and then 40 and run more days. Running 6 800m runs or 3 mile runs as a workout helps too. Make sure that they are all at about the same pace (around a minute off your best), and to take a two minute break between each mile. Also, a good idea would be to subscribe to a running magazine once you get more into running. They have a lot of tips in each issue, and most of them are for longer runs that will help your stamina.

go to the track for a week
each day start with a .5 mile warmup (2 laps)
then, mix in different sprints between 50m and 400m
after you feel like you've worked out enough, then do another .5 mile for cooldown.
Good Luck

Hard to tell without some additional information like what's your distance now, what's your goal, etc.
