I applied this tattoo. I used the wrong ink. It was awesome but now it is bad. How soon can I start over the right way? does it need to be completely healed over into a scar ? can I even go over the scar?

My tattoo is healing great and actually looks pretty good. The spider web I did around the heart took though but the heart will be a scar. I wanted something personal for myself. The web is good enough. I am considering going to school to learn the trade. I have done some research and it would be neat to be a part time artist and a full time RN.

If you don't know any more that this,
what the hell were you doing slinging ink.??
You will be really lucky, if you don't end up
with a bad infection. Go to a tattoo artist,
and hope he can help you fix this. At the
least, pick up the after care instructions.
THINK BEFORE YOU INK

Do you mean that you actually tattooed yourself with needles at home? I really hope you sanitized everything.
You need to wait for it to heal- it will scab over, let the scab fall off and then go to a tattoo parlor. You can either get a cover up or you can get it removed with laser surgery- both are fairly expensive, removal even more so. If there is any inflammation or slight infection at the site of the tattoo do not hesitate to see a doctor. You could wind up with blood poisoning, depending what ink you used and how much bacteria entered your bloodstream from the needle. There's a reason for tattoo parlors and for sanitation standards at tattoo parlors- tattoos are not a do-it-yourself kind of thing. Treat it like a wound for now- it is open to infection.

I can't begin to tell you how many homemade tattoos my artist covers in a week.

To answer your question, leave it alone for at least 3 months. Then go to a good studio and have them design a cover for it..if they are good you won't even be able to tell its a cover up.

But please don't redo this yourself, for soo many reason its just a bad idea to do tattoos yourself. Infections, blood poisoning, scarring etc etc etc. And scared tissue is way harder to work on that new skin..so if it did not turn out right the first time a homemade cover tat will look 100 times worse.

Wow... simply wow. You're no longer intended to make use of neosporin, peroxide, or alcohol on a tattoo. EVER! If it nonetheless hurts four days later, anything is unsuitable. Probably inflamed. You will have to see a healthcare professional. By the way in which, boiling, peroxide, alcohol - none of the ones will kill the hepatitis, MRSA or HIV virus. Good good fortune with that.

I would suggest going to a professional and have it fixed I had someone do a homemade for me at 14 and had to live with it until I was in my 30's before I finally went to a pro and got it covered.
