I know two people who either cannot or will not keep friends. They each follow a similar pattern.
- They meet someone, get close to them, act like BFF's, then within 6 months or a year, they manage to find something wrong with their friend and before long that friend is history.
- Both of them are in relationships, and get very jealous of their boyfriend's friends.
- Neither one of them enjoy being alone, to the point of burdening their boyfriend.
There are obvious issues here with fear of commitment or fear of being hurt; having to be in control; etc. But both of these people follow such a similar pattern I wonder if they are symptoms of something specific.

They're not crazy, just insecure, and suffer from a lack of social skills.

It also sounds like borderline personality disorder...where they meet someone, immediately get super attached, do everything with that person, then commence with the unrealistic idealized expectations of that other person's behavior and wind up crushed when that person doesn't act accordingly...and hence another "BFF" bites the dust. They were probably really normal people too until they met their current boyfriends...at which point they stopped being friends with their own friends and assimilated themselves into his identity.

...it's nuts but tons of chicks are like this...and guys too.
