I made my first ever fresh peach pie. The pie turned out okay, however, I had the hardest time ever slicing the peaches. Is there a trick to removing the peach's pit? Thank you.

You can also use ripe nectarines . The nectarines have two advantages:
They're a freestone fruit so all you have to do is run a knife around the meridians and twist both halves to extract the " stone "
They don't have to be peeled-less work

I slice it much similar to how you would slice an apple (like an X if you are looking down on the peach) and then peal the slices away from the pit. Ripe peaches will peel away very easily from the pit.

Slice it in half and pick out the seed. I hope you have already
removed the skins if you are making a pie.

If you can find freestone peaches, use those. It sounds as though you had cling peaches, and those pits are tougher to remove.
