Go to westchester-weddings.com. Click wedding cakes on the left side bar. I saw some of the most gorgeous wedding cakes. A suggestion. If you are having a three tier cake, have different fillings on each tier. Say strawberries with vanilla cream, chocolate mousse with chocolate shavings, and canoli cream with chocolate chips and citron fruit. Do a search: wedding cakes. You will come up with 100's of sites to show you. You will then get a better picture of what you really like. Good Luck
P.S. the 2nd photo of the wedding cake is horrendous. I like the pure white one, but check out that site, you will see stunning cakes.

As far as "unique" goes the second one you say is ugly is the most unique so you should be looking at traditional designs.

Keep in mind when choosing flavors that fruit and nuts are huge allergies so have a backup flavor on at least one tier that includes neither of these or you might end up having to call an ambulance when someone has a reaction.

I love how unique the ugly cake is.. But it is still ugly..

depends on what you truley like.. round seems more classical to me.. Square has more of an edge to it..

as for the filling inside.. I would rather have a cake with fruits ontop instead of inside... but that is me.. I dont like foods with fillings in them..

here are some sites for you to look around on..

I liked the first one, and the different colored layers in it. Mmm...the chocolate and caramel and other different flavors look like it'll taste very good. I think you should get a white cake like that one from the outside but from the inside you should do a variety of different flavors that will blend well together when you eat it. Oh, and the strawberry filling sounds better than the blueberry filling.

i would have one layer of cake with the special fruit filling and then a plain layer. i went to a wedding where it had raspberry in the middle and i have never seen so much wedding cake left in my life.

but i think more people like strawberries, plus it is classier. :)

The first cake is so blah...not a bit of color anywhere...the second one is very odd...go to the ace of cakes website-they have some cool cakes....try wilton (they might have some nice examples), or just google wedding cakes...look at what some smaller bakeries have done.

ok, your a bride right? Have you not seen any wedding cakes in any bridal magazines you have? Pick from those options. Much easier. also, why dont you have alternating fillings, one tier strawberry one blue, one raspberry. Whatever, its your day!

And btw... your so called ugly cake is really cute! Great idea to bring nature into for theme.

First cake is beautiful - lucky you to be able to afford one of Sylvia's cakes. Go with strawberries, more people like them than blueberries.

have you met with a baker yet? they usually have books with examples of cakes they've done, it's better to pick a style from there (something that they know they can do) than to pick a complicated style and expect them to pull it off. I'm sure you can find a local baker that does unique styles.

as for flavor, definitely do strawberry instead of blueberry. but wait until you've picked a baker to pick flavors, everyone has different options.

Go to the bakery, talk to the wedding cake designer and have a cake tasting. Then decide what you want.
