Joseph's reaction was like most people's would be in this case. He had his doubts, and so he chose to "put away" Mary quietly, In his day being her fiancee he could have had her stoned for "premarital sex" but he chose not too, but then the Angle of the Lord came and told Joseph the truth, and I am sure he was worried, confused, disappointed, excited every emotion you can imagine, but he still did the right thing.

Yeah, that's why God sent an angel to enlighten Joseph.
I think the movie, "The Nativity" did an excellent job showing the freakyness Joseph, Jacomo & Ann (Mary's parents) went through with the unplaned (by humans) preganacy of Mary.

Joseph and Mary were engaged at the time. Joseph had mixed feelings and was leaning towards sending her away.A thought (angel) from God came to Joseph and changed his heart.They married and Joseph became Jesus's earthly father.

If God wanted a kid, why didn't he get his own woman ? But to go after someone BETHROTH, 12 to 13 years old simply because Joseph was a descendant of King David ? Here "God" is to bring his SAVIOR Son into the world and he wants him to be connected to one of the most murderous and adulterous Kings of the Jews ? But then that's the RELIGIOUS "mind.........."
