i have boy/girl twins and it was about the same for both. the dr will give you specific instructions for the circumcision usually is just to make sure you clean it good and for the frist few days i think i needed to keep vasoline on it. when changing the boys, many will tell you to keep an eye on "old faithful" as when the cool air hits him he may spring a leak like a fountain. i never had the problem, but many do. im sure your hubby will fill you in on the "boy " thing as you go. once it is potty time, they will prolly want to do it "like daddy" and he can show them how. my son went from diapers to "i wanna do it like dad" he never sat to go. speak to your dr if you have any concerns about the circumcision. main rule is cleanliness, and vasoline. good luck and congrats,,,welcome to the wonderful world of twins.

Stand back with a facecloth to use as a sheild when changing diapers! Many baby boys pee like a fountain just when the cool air hits! As for the circumcision, listen to your doctor about the after care, they will have the best advice. A circumcised penis does have less long term care than a non circumcised one, but that shouldn't be your only reason, research it well, you will here a lot of arguments about pros and cons of the surgery. Good luck!

Here's my advice: don't get your boys circumcized. Unless you are Jewish, there is absolutely no reason to get it done.
I only have boys and so maybe I don't know if there's much difference when they are so little (I doubt there is) but I do want to reiterate what someone else suggested: there is no such thing as "boys will be boys" - that's just hogwash!
You can expect politeness and courtesy and housework from boys - just be firm about it! I think perhaps little girls, wanting to model their mothers fall into certain patterns of behavior easier than boys BUT there's NO reason boys can't be nice AND masculine. If your husband treats you with respect and courtesy and you do the same, then the boys can be expected to do the same. My boys are very well-mannered and the best part was it wasn't any effort making them so! I simply insisted that anyone who deals with them use polite manners as well; when a child talks to you, you say "please" and "thank you" just like you would with an adult and the child will naturally follow your lead. It's that simple. If you are rude to your child and your family/friends, your child will be rude - it has nothing to do with gender.
But please, do rethink doing a Routine Infant Circ - I think it's not just a silly idea, it's WRONG. Be sure you get the WHOLE story before you make that decision. Oh and your husband can have his opinion but when you're in the hospital, YOU are the one to sign the papers, not him.

I have two boys and a third on the way. Don't worry. I've always heard that boys are easier than girls. The key to the circumcision is to keep it clean. Don't worry, the doctor will give you instructions.
One word of advice.... remember that baby boys have no aim and no control. You are far more likely to get a pee shower!

The life lessons that boys need to learn are the same as the ones that girls need to learn. Just get to know all of your kids as individuals & teach them what you think they should know.
re: circumcision... A good way to avoid having to worry about caring for it is to just skip it altogether :-D Then, all you have to do is wipe it off on the outside with each diaper change, just like you did for your daughter.

Raising a boy isn't that much harder than a girl. You will be fine...you have an 11 year old girl...she turned out great...no problem with the boys.
Regarding the circumcision....just keep them clean and bandaged. I had to put some petroleum jelly on it to keep the bandage from sticking...but it wasn't that hard to do....just keep them clean!
Congrats on twins! I am twin...it is so much fun to have a sibiling that is just like you!
What are you going to name them? Or is that your next question? :)

Baby boys are really no different from girls except for taking more time to clean the diaper area. Just keep that area clean and use plenty of vaseline until they are healed. And of course, plenty of love just like any baby, boy or girl. Good luck!

I have two boys ages 1yr. and 3 yr.... Boys aren't that difficult, I have both my boys circumsized and the hospital gave us upkeep instructions.. Just get it done right away in the hospital and all will be fine... My boys are very active, and they LOVE anything cars, sports.. They also like stuffed animals and dogs.. You will be fine.. Just trust your instincts and don't sweat the small stuff.. Just expect your twins to pick up things much faster than your little girl.. They have a big sister to watch and learn from- it's really fun to watch them grow.... Congrats !! Good luck

you will get it. My first baby was a boy and my second was a girl and I felt the same as you. You make sure your gentle and you get all the poop off from all the hiding places. Boys are great!!! Mine are grown and are still wonderful (don't tell them that they get swollen heads)
