Absolutely! I've known brides to wear flip-flops in their weddings. I've also know a bride to wear a pair of white high-top Converse sneakers.

It depends on the flip-flop and the bride's culture/desires.

The plastic drug-store type flip-flop is not acceptable footwear for brides, or guests.

But, for a casual wedding in the summer - a flip flop sandal in white leather could be quite nice.

For a very formal, pullout the stops wedding? I doubt that even something from an exclusive Rodeo Drive boutique would be acceptable.

But it's your wedding and you wear whatever it is that makes you happy.

No, they will not.

Beach wear is accepted at the beach, though. It is OK at a BBQ if you are friends with the host/hostess.

Flip flops are the definitive expression of self defeat (pardon the pun) that states, "I give up...I just don't even care anymore"

Dressing for a wedding is as fancy as it gets! If you don't wear nice clothes to a wedding, where are you going to wear them? What are you saving the "good clothes" for anyway?

Hey, my sister wore socks and no shoes in her wedding. If the couple that is getting married doesn't mind it, why should others? :) It really just depends on the spirit of each wedding. Some are easy-going, others more conservative.

Hi Drampor, I've been working in the "catering" industry for 9 years now, and I've seen it all. Whatever the "Bride and Groom" decide on...goes! There are always new trends in the bridal industry. Who knows, flip-flops maybe a fashion trend when this "global warming" REALLY starts kicking in! XOXO Moonpie

If it is your wedding you can wear whatever you want. If you are a guest at someone else's wedding then no, unless it is a beach wedding.

If you do wear them, please wear a clean, new pair so that you don't look like a poor slob.

They should be, why not? The people getting married should be able to wear whatever they want. They could choose funeral attire, pirate costumes or Village People outfits if they want! It's their day!

The decision is yours. You know the truth. If you choose to wear apparel that reflects your disrespect for the ritual, it's your choice. However, if either of the couple is a member of the marriage ceremony, why not be respectful? Are you a rejected suitor to one of this couple?
