Why is it that if we saw God that we would die? I never understood this, and wondered why God would kill us if we saw him being still alive. I am not looking for disrespectful answers. I just don't really understand! Could someone explain to me in words why. I don't want long Bibical answers. I want a simple and easy way to understand this. And thanks.

Why if you stare at the sun would it burn out your retinas? The answer is that the power and energy of the sun is too much for your eyes to handle because they were not designed to take in so much energy.

In a similar manner, the power and energy of God is so great that our fragile physical bodies would not be able to withstand being in his presence because they were not designed to be able to handle that. It is only once we have been reborn as spirits ourselves that we will be able to exist in the immediate presence of God.

Moses saw GOD as a burning bush and he did not die till he was very old in age. So, how can anyone believe that if you see GOD in any form that you will die? When Jesus returns to this earth everyone that sees him and is called willl leave this life for a better one in heaven. I have prepared a place for you with many mansions. Okay then.

The problem is the inherent POWER -which is unbelievably great- within the nature of God's pure holiness. The nature of that purity is such that if anything that contains sin comes into close proximity to it... it is obliterated... the same way that light obliterates darkness. It's not that light TRIES to do it... it's the nature of things.
Raw voltage and amps within electricity will destroy us if we come at it the wrong way--- it's nothing personal- it's merely the nature of the power. There's safe ways to approach God (through Jesus)... and there are very UNsafe ways (any other way).

God is omnipresent. With this in mind, who do "YOU" really think you are? To know God in fullness the "you and I must die to itself. Lose your life to gain your life. God is the total sum of life, not a small, limited, personality. Holiness = Whole-I-ness.

People that has accepted Him and done His will and always do good things to others can only see Him. Ordinary sinful people like us will die because we sinned and He is true Holy that sin never come in His presence.

Because he's great and we suck. It's like a respect thing but on a whole bigger level. If you go to visit some royalty you don't look them straight in the eye and bow when you meet them. Some royalty back in the day could say "off with their heads" if just looked at them. Since we are nothing and He is everything, our sin(only Christian term I'll throw in there) doesn't allow us to see God face to face since He has no sin.

"Beloved, now are we sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is," (1st John 3:2). Read your Bible and stop listening to satan's lies.
