Dear Jackie,
Fethiye is a Paradise, you can believe me ...
Perfect beach and perfect history next by next ...
I like Butterfly Valley,
Something about Butterfly valley ;
Kelebekler Vadisi (Butterfly Valley) This interesting canyon, surrounded by 350 m. high mountains, 3 - 4 miles away from Ölüdeniz (Blue Lagoon), took its name from butterflies named "Jarsey Tiger" seen between July and September months.
Arrival to bay, which is an earth paradise with pink oleander flowers adorning environment and small fall flowing for summer and winter, wide coast, clean sea, glittering pebbles, is maintained from Ölüdeniz (Blue Lagoon) via ships.
Camping area with tents, restaurant, bar, roof, shower, changing cubicles, etc. possibilities are submitted within the valley which is the meeting place of world wanderers.

Okay I didnt read through most of the answers, but Tanju's one is pretty good. Obviously you should ignore the ones that have to do with a bird.
I've never been to Fethiye, but many of my friends have. There are lots of other places like it on the coast like Bodrum for example. Near Fethiye there is a port called Gocek. You can rent a boats there with a small crew and you can tour around the islands for a week or so. Its also possible to do the trip with multiple families though.

Turkey is a lovely place I have visited Mamaris, Bodrum, Gumbet and Calis Beach all enjoyable resorts, I would recommend Calis Beach in Fethiye(in Turkish "Çaliþ" & pronounced "Chalish) ,it boasts two very natural attractions - a cooling breeze, perfect for when the local temperatures soar in the summer months, and - Calis is famous for some of the most beautiful sunsets in the World.
Bars and restaurants line the beach area, which is block paved along the seafront. The resort is very flat, so is ideal for people with mobility restrictions. Calis has it's own waterpark too. Parts of the beach are also popular with the local turtle population.
Ample choice of restaurants, cafes and snack bars serving local and Turkish fare, seafood or Italian dishes. Pizza. English breakfasts for the homesick. Restaurants, offering airy dining with fine views of bay. Nearby Fethiye town offers more variety.
Boat trips to nearby islands; fishing trips (including shark fishing); Dalyan turtle beach; Pamukkale (Cotton Castle); Saklikent Tlos Gorge; various truck safaris in mountains; Fethiye Market (Tuesdays); Marmaris; Olu Deniz.

Turkey is generally safe, but sporadic violence due to domestic and regional tensions does occur. In May 2007, a bomb caused significant casualties in Ankara. In August 2006, bombings occurred in Antalya and Marmaris and shopping and tourist areas were targeted. Bomb attacks are sometimes aimed at targets that represent Western interests, such as banks and consulates.
Travellers should exercise caution and monitor the news for any further warnings.
Check travel advisories before travelling to rural areas to the east, particularly near the borders of Syria, Iraq and Iran.
Check out Safe Travel for updated government warnings or the Thorn Tree travel forum for some good advice from travellers.

A good choice for holiday... Fethiye is a town near Marmaris and Bodrum... It has very nice beaches, little bays, and so beautiful sea.. Ölü Deniz (It means 'dead sea' but completely not) is most famous place (just a place green and blue joined) in Fethiye.. I am sure that you will be happy with everything in fethiye... I have been there many times...

I sure can. How long do you intend to stay? While you are that far, take a couple of excursions to the places around the area you will love them too. Fethiye´s lagoon (ölü deniz) will probably be heavily populated around this time of the year.
So if you are not booking a hotel for the whole period of your stay, try to keep your options free for those wonderful corners.
Have lots of fun and keep sober day time.

Turkey is just like anywhere else - there are beautiful parts and not so beautiful parts to it. When you get out of the holiday resorts there is quite a lot of poverty and it's like you stepped back in time. There are a lot of amazing places to visit - Pamukkale, Ephesus, Istanbul, Ankara, Cappadocia to name but a few. The holiday resorts are fab, you will have a great time where ever you go. The people are very friendly and can not do enough for you. I'm really jealous - wish I was going back out this summer - I'm not there until December.
Have a fantastic holiday - I'm sure you will.

Istanbul is the best place in Turkey it's in the European part of Turkey connected through Bosporus to the Asian part of Turkey. There are so many places to go out the food is incredible, the stores are awesome and clothing and jewelry is cheap.Last time I went there I bought bags and bags of gifts. The city it's lighted with countless lamps next to water just beautiful. And Turkish people are very kind. You should defenetly go but if u want to be next to the sea shore try Kusadasi with incredible beach resorts. And Izmir is nice to i don't know anything about it but I heard they have very beautiful people in there :P

Place is really nice, but..... men are tooo annoying. If you are going with your boyfriend everything will be good. If you are going alone... you should think about it... if you are ready or not. For me it was very irritating. I won't ever go to Turkey without a man.
