Piercing for fashion goes back a long way.
As piercing became legalized and more widely available, you started to see it more, especially "fashion" piercings like the belly button.
Me, that's one of the few sites I DON'T have pierced.

i dont know but i was thinking about that yesterday. i got my belly button peirced in high school (about 5 years ago) and i still have it, although i never look at it, change it or anything. but yesterday i looked at it and i was like what girl doesnt have one of these? and i was like, why is it so cliche? and why did i get one?! i think people starting peircing to be different, and some peircings still are considered unusual, but not the belly button, its just too over done now.
