If you take care of your ford ranger very well, it will last longer ...

We own 1994 Honda Accord and 1997 Acura ... Both used cars ... Both in great shape ... Both nearly 200K miles (I know I know we travel a lot)

Someone told us to take care of it every well with tune ups and maintainace and we plan to change the engine which is about 500 - 1000 bucks and it should be good for another 10 years

Don't trade it in since you will be very unhappy with the blue book value and expecially with that many miles. Those Rangers if taken care of will last a very long time. My Father in law finally replaced the engine which only ran about 1500 in his and he had over 240,000 miles on it. The guy next door has over 150,000 miles on his and it is still going well. I suggest taking care of it. Cars and trucks are not cheap these days. Just take care of what you have and give it to someone who needs a vehicle when you do go to geta new one. You would be lucky to get $1000 if that at the dealership. Once you drive a car off the lot it loses quite a bit of money.

it depends what the vehicle is worth to you. and if you are happy with it. it does have low miles for the year, and you will still be able to get a lot of miles out of it. i don't think a 93 ranger with the 4.0L could be worth much more than 3000 and say a 4cyl might only be worth 1500. but that could be a good amount for you on a trade in. but i think if you like the truck still, and it is reliable, keep it. there are a lot of good years left in it.

i drove a 92 ranger until it had over 250,000 miles on it before i sold it and it was still running great. The only thing other than routine maintenance I ever had to do was replace the clutch at around 180,000 miles. It was one of the best vehicles I ever had and it got over 25 mpg too.

I wish i had it back...no payment, cheap insurance, didn't care if it got a door ding...

From a mileage standpoint yes, but from a parts availability standpoint no. After a decade, the manufacturers start discontinuing replacement parts so the parts get harder to find and more expensive. This is esp. true for trim parts, seat covers, interior trim panels and so on but it can apply to engine and suspension parts also.
