No I have not asked this question before and if it has been raised if must mean people are worried about it. My husband is terrified that he is going to get something from the blood and I wanted to ease his mind.

I was told that the transfusion will take 2 hours and he will have to stay in hospital overnight because we live far from the hospital and to save him from travelling home and the coming back in the morning for radiotherapy.

no, personality is in the brain, not the blood. Blood is thoroughly tested prior to any transfusion to make sure it is not contaminated by anything harmful to the patient.

In addition to the other answers (no you wouldn't, and all the blood is screened to prevent contaminated blood). If you had a total blood transfusion, the blood would come from many donors. When you donate blood, you only give a pint at a time, 3 or 4 times a year.

No, they would not take the personality of the donor. In this day and age, all donated blood is put through rigorous testing to make sure that it is in no way contaminated. The systems of checks and balances are extreme since AIDS, and blood must be absolutely clean before it is usable in a transfusion.

They take a lot of steps now to make sure that contaminated blood is discarded. The chance of getting bad blood is very slim....the only problem would be if the body rejects the new blood, and that can usually be fixed....no a person wont take on the personality of the person that the blood came from. I know that some organs such as heart can make a person feel a little different, but taking on the personality of another person is only in movies.

No, the blood does not make any difference to the persons personality, blood only makes the body function. Its the brain that makes your personality.
The blood is fully tested before transfused if it was contaminated in any way it would not be used.

I can't believe this question is back again. Didn't you ask this once before? No, you do not take on the donor's personality. You would not know if the donated blood is contaminated because it wouldn't be. The screening process is far too rigorous.

blood donors under goes serious checks so it is unlikely that it would be diseased. people that undergo serious injuries or accidents or close to death experiences with or without a transfusion, often change their personalities. It might happen with organ transplanting but i doubt it with blood transfusions.
