I have had strange health issues now for almost a year & none of the doctors I've been to see can pin down a diagnosis, despite extensive blood tests, x-rays & other tests. I have seen a PCP, a holistic MD & a MD of internal medicine, & an orthopedist. I have been tested for everything from RA to Lyme disease to TB to pinched nerves & every possible hypothesis has turned up negative so far. A lot of the symptoms are generalized--such as fatigue, chonic sinusitus, achy joints, chronic back and neck pain, stress & being slightly overweight. I went to see a doctor several years ago because of intermittent pain & numbness in my arms, from the elbow down to the hand. Over the years, it has increased in frequency & duration to the point that it happens daily and is severe. I also had a bout of internal eye inflammation recently & my ESR rate has been weird the 3 times it was tested. I've been told to wait to see what else goes wrong & then do more tests. Any suggestions on what to do?

Your symptoms sound like Fibromyalgia. Visit a doctor of rheumatology and ask to be checked for Fibromyalgia. There is no medical test for this condition, it is diagnosed by trigger points.
I've written an article on this subject and I've enclosed the link where you can read more about it and see if this is what you have.

Go to this website www.igenex.com....request a test. Take it to your doctor and tell them you want him to have your blood processed and sent back to this lab. Get the General Lyme Panel which is about $200. The tests that regular hosipital and other labs run are not specific enough for someone that has had Lyme Disease for over 6 months. Your symptoms are very similar to everything I had 6 years ago when two regular Lyme tests came out negative but an igenex test was positive. Do not waste any time......the longer you have Lyme the harder it is to treat and be well again.
Good Luck.

For about 3 yrs I had unexplainable health issues as well, in addition to definable infections. At one point in time, I even had symptoms of a mild heart attack. I had chronic fatigue, terrible allergies, tons of digestive issues, plus continuous back and neck pain, that would leave me litterally unable to walk at times. I cannot tell you how many x-rays, urine tests, blood work, skin tests, etc that were done over the course of 3 yrs to try and determine what was going one. Finally, this past February, I went to a Chiropractor, and after some x-rays and simple exercises they had me do, they were able to tell me the types of symptoms I had been having and what the problem was. I had left rib rotation, and my atlas and axis were out. I had had a head trauma in gymnastics 10 years prior, and little did I know, it got progressively worse over time. Now, after only 5 months of treatment, I am virtually painfree and my symptoms have regressed considerably. I highly recommend you look into a Chiropractor. Good luck too and hope you feel better soon!

A lot of your symptoms sound like Lyme disease. Lyme disease can mimic many other conditions such as Fibromyalgia and MS to name a few. The tests for Lyme are not accurate. You need to find a Lyme doctor. Please visit some of the sites I am giving you. Good Luck.

I have Fibromyalgia. So does Mom.
Best advice- keep active- the more active you are and the more walking you do the better you will feel. Try to get your weight down. I looked better and felt better UNDER weight. It is tough though. Am in the process of losing what I gained just since March. UGH.
Eat lightly. Learn some breathing exercises- like tai chi chi gung yoga. Clean up your personal environment- clutter- dust-
The exhaustion is the toughest to deal with- it is ideal to be able to rest for 15-20 minutes. more than once a day.
Plenty of veggies and fruit.
Hope you feel better- putting a name to it helps.

Anytime I've seen any disease on Discovery Health where doctors test for Lyme it almost always is poisoning. Discovery Health channel runs a show called Mystery Diagnosis, I'd advise watching it. Good luck.

The first thing that came to my mind is Fibromyalgia. I used to work in a physical therapy office where we had patients come in with symptoms similar to yours. Most of them told me that it was a long time before they were diagnosed, because many doctors don't consider it a real disease. However, I think it is now becoming more commonly accepted.
Good luck!

Check out Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome at www.ednf.org
This is a common inherited syndrome that is constantly missed by doctors in diagnosing illnesses. See if any of your symptoms fit the description, then find a geneticist, to check it out.
Chances, your internist knows little or nothing about it

I think I would follow up those tests with a Rheumatologist. Fibromyalgia doesn't cause eye inflammation, but things like Sjogrens Syndrome can.
