In response to Philip. I have a blue ray dvd Sony Laptop with 1080 screen and HD player aswell, also Ive been given as a present Casino Royale, The Queen, XXX and X-Men on Blue ray dvds and also 3 HD dvds. So i have everything needed I think, except a HDMI lead (LOL) which i need to connect everything. I dont have buyers remorse YET. But hoping it was the right choice in terms of quality and longevity

Nice choice, I was looking at that set myself and ended up with a Samsung. The picture was as good quality as the Pioneer but carried a smaller price tag which allowed me to get a HD DVD player and save a few bucks. Just a foot note I still have my Pioneer stereo system that is 20 years old and sounds as good as the day I bought it. Hope your TV lasts as long!

Buyer's remorse already? If you don't have Hd signal you might not be getting the best out of your television. In addition a good sound system helps too.

Playstation 3 is offering five HD movies with its purchase or you can go with cheaper HD DVD players. Until you get those or possibly HD reception from your local station you are not using it for its maximum possibility.

Pioneer is a good brand. We have had one in our TV station lobby since December 2003. It has been on every weekday since then even during thunderstorms. It has had zero problems.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Dick likes the red push on his Samsung.
Some like the green push on a Pioneer.
I can't see any colors pushed on my Panasonic and I love it that way.
