The bad news is that Christians believe that "God Inspired" men are incapable of committing errors....hence the mess the world is in today.

lol, "Good news everyone!?" indeed. I never caught that joke before (maybe you didn't make it before?). Yeah, apparently some Christians seem to believe that the writers of the gospels were infallible while they wrote them. This is one of the things that seperates Christianity from Judaism. In Judaism the Torah is the direct word of God, dictated word for word by God to Moses. But the other books of the Tanakh, the prophets and the writings, are not of the same level: God merely gave these writers a divine vision, the words are their own. Christians apparently don't like to think in such subtleties...
edit: Jesus a seperate being? What are you, an Arianist? Is that common nowadays? I'd like to know more...

Jesus could not have written the whole Bible because the Old Testament was written HUNDREDS OF YEARS before he was born. It is filled with prophecies about his coming (all of which came true). If he had written it, it would have defeated the purpose. And, since the Bible WAS divinely inspired by God, I'm pretty sure God saw to it that the men writing it didn't make any major mistakes.

First off, Jesus was not God in the Flesh. Jesus was God's son, sent to earth on our behalf. A separate being.
Secondly, the writing of the bible began hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Much of the writing, in fact, included prophecy regarding the circumstances of his birth, life and death. Have you ever read any of the Bible? It is not A book written as a "whole". It is a compilation of 66 little books written over a span of hundreds of years. You'll notice that much of the Hebrew scriptures were first person accounts written by prophets who lived at various times during the history of God's people. Prophets like Hosea, Ezekiel, Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah. Some include first person accounts of their own experiences as God's servants, such as Daniel. Jesus had a more important role to play than Bible writer. Rather than criticize God's use of humans for the writing, we should be awed and humbled that he would deign to do so.
I hope that helps you.

Ray: Uh, WHAT? What on EARTH makes you think "separate being" equates in any way, shape or form, to arianism? What I mean by that statement is that Jesus and God are not one. They are SEPARATE and distinct ... beings, entities, persons

Jesus didn't write down his teachings because they were meant to be secret.
Mark 4:11-12:
"And he said to them, ‘To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside, everything comes in parables; in order that “they may indeed look, but not perceive, and may indeed listen, but not understand; so that they may not turn again and be forgiven."
In fact, neither Jesus, nor any of his disciples, ever wrote down any of the secret teachings. Christians think that the secrets are revealed in their Bible, but they aren't.
The Christian Bible doesn't contain anything of real importance. The secrets of Jesus are still secrets. In fact, they can't be written down. The secrets are impossible to express in words. Few people realize they exist and even fewer know them.
This can easily be seen in the fact that all of the people that call themselves christians are still miserable, irritable, ignorant, illogical, controlling, selfish, and dishonest. These so-called christians still fight wars and oppress others.
They think that they know the truth, but they don't. Its easy to see that they don't if you just take a good look at them.
It may seem unfair that so few people in the world actually know the secrets that Jesus revealed to a select few. However, contrary to the beliefs of christians, you don't have to know these teachings to avoid going to hell. Also, everyone will eventually learn them, (although it may take them many lifetimes before they do).
(In fact, I don't actually know the secrets. I probably won't be able to understand them in my current lifetime either).

I don't believe that God, who loves us, would leave us to try and figure it out all by ourselves. He divinely inspired the Bible and it was written in a language that is now dead, so that the meaning of the words would never change. The Bible is, was and always will be 100% true.

It's a 'fact' that God divinely inspired men to write the bible?
Wow. Do you have any evidence whatsoever that this is a fact?

Because that assumes that there was a messiah called Jesus, who God sent to actually achieve something. For example, why only send one messiah to one very small, isolated part of the world? Why not come back and tell us again, since we never got the message the first time? All seems like a load of rubbish to me.

The Holy Spirit inspired the men who wrote much of the Bible.
Jesus spoke and acted in front of hundreds of witnesses and some wrote down their experiences which we still use but Jesus also made it clear that the old covenant was over and his teachings were enough; all the sacrament and sacrifice was unnecessary now.

God directly wrote the Ten Commandments. Besides, the Bible is accurate in history and science, so why doubt the rest?
