I dont understand how you believe that the wine literally turns into blood. And do not correct me, I asked a priest, and he said Catholics believe the wine actually turns into Jesus' blood, that it is no longer wine. Well, I have to say...It IS wine at the end of the day. Like, you can drink it and become drunk for proof. Also, the church sounds so much like a cult...listen...
1) You are baptised welcomed into the church
2) the leader of the church wears a special gown
3) You eat your gods flesh and his blood.
4) you all prey to your leader
5) that priest reads from an anciant book, you all answer the same thing at the same time

Does this all sound a bit...I dont know...Wierd to you? Or can you honestly say God who is a humble man, wants this? If God is perfect, he would be humble, a humble man would not insist on such cult like antics.

the Church isn't as cultish as you think. The blood is Jesus' blood spiritually that He poured for our sin and communion is spiritually His flesh that He sacrificed on the Cross.
We doesn't pray to our leader and we answer with our own heart that we believe.
Maybe you have a cult yourself to mock your brothers/sisters in Christ.

The doctrine you start speaking about is called the Transubstantiation. That is, the physical properties may remain the same, however, the spiritual substance of the bread and wine change into the literal spiritual substance of Jesus's flesh and blood.

All the things you describe build up a sense of genuine community, and humble men tend to enjoy communities.

Catholicism lacks a key definition of a cult -- secret teachings.

If you want to know the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, look up the Catechism. It's even available free online. Might do you some good, it references all the scriptural support for everything the Catholic church teaches and does, and you can stop listening to the hate your sources are spreading.

All organized religions are cults. I am a recovering cathaholic. Image or imagination is where all things/concepts begin. You remember pretending? So what we have here is an imagination that fulfills many a robotic believer to the extent that they remain civil or somewhat civil throughout their lives, at least to this point in time, relative to standard understanding. I think it is worthwhile to question belief systems, good for you. But as far as the blood thing with the wine, if the catholic mind can find some comfort in imagining the blood of Christ in their wine and it helps them get along with all the insanity in today's world, no matter how batty I think they are for their sacredity in that, I let them be.

My major beef would go far deeper than the wine, but that is another topic. Thanks for the question. Healing be unto you.

Its good that you ask questions, most of what you mention is based on what people misrepresent about the chruch.

People only pray to God/Jesus no-one esle at all. They ask for saints to pray for them in a similar way you would ask a buddy but they are closer to God.

A lot of the visual things are realy symbolic and helpful for people to express their faith.

Non-Catholic groups do the same things. Most evangelicals worship the bible and not God. Yet the bible clearly states that it is not the final authority and that it must be viewed in light of Church traditiona and techings.

Remember most of these evangelical churches have only been around a few years, and of course the whole movement only a few hundred.

The catholic church can trace everything back to jesus.

Ah, the Mysteries of the Catholic Church, the Scarlet Beast of Rev.13. Mother of Harlots (all the little scattered christian churched that exist in the earth), seat of authority & earthly throne of satan herslf (personified in stone as Mother Mary hlding the baby jesus). Murderers of millions during the holy crusades as they though to change the laws of our FATHER YAHWEH to the laws & traditions of the church. These are what are taught in todays churches today, while the PERFECT LAWS OF PEACE are continuall regected!!! That is what the bible means when it ways that the nations are drunk by the wine of her fornication, (that is, the false teachings that are coming forth from catholics & christianity today). People are reading thier Bibles, but what they find in the Bible has no barring on what thier being taught from behind the pulpit. The reality that satan has her ministers positioned as ministers of rightousness is beyond most peoples comprehenion. Let us return to the simple ways of our HEVENLY FATHER YAHWEH & live!!!!

I agree..I am a Christian and I don't understand where the Catholics get there traditions from...they aren't biblical! The Bible doesn't say anything about us praying or talking to saints. The Word of God says that Jesus is our chief intercessor...he will pray for us...not the saints!

Unless you eat of GOD'S flesh and blood you do not have LIFE in you. This is pretty deep theology if you want to understand it. Because many of JESUS' own followers turned from HIM because of this teaching . ..

We must see that JESUS is hidden behind the viel, the appearance of BREAD AND WINE . .. but JESUS is LITERALLY PRESENT, BODY, BLOOD, SOUL, AND DIVINITY . .. There's A LOT of scriptual support for this as well . .. Let me give you one . ..

Matthew 13:33  Another parable he spoke to them: The kingdom of heaven is like to leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, until the whole was leavened.

Let us pick the parable apart . ..

first of all just as an English note you'll notice HEAVEN and Leaven are just one letter apart. Second of all you'll note JESUS is speaking of THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. JESUS is THE BREAD OF LIFE . .. We see that in the Gospel of John . .. Now we are comparing THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN to a leaven, a loaf of bread . .. Now why a woman? JESUS calls MOTHER MARY "woman" SHE is of course THE NEW EVE and OUR MOTHER . .. but before we can prove that we must see that there is a REAL PRESENCE IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST hidden behind the appearance of bread and wine . .. ok so the "woman" took the bread and hid it . .. we just said it was hidden didn't we that's what JESUS is saying here, that under the appearance of BREAD AND WINE is THE REAL FLESH OF JESUS and MOTHER MARY is the ARK OF THAT COVENANT BODY AND BLOOD . .. three measures of meal hide this HOLY FLESH . .. The WATER, the BLOOD, The SPIRIT I refer you to 1 John 5:7-8 for evidence that this is so. .. And thereby we are united to WORD OF GOD . .. Unitl the whole is leavened . . . until the KINGDOM OF GOD is built, THE TRUE VINE is grown to maturity, the harvest is ready, until the second coming of CHRIST . ..

You must eat of JESUS or you do not have LIFE in you . . .

Now that we see that we will see that MOTHER MARY is the MOTHER OF ALL THE LIVING. And we will see that SHE is the NEW EVE.

Genesis 3:20  And Adam called the name of his wife Eve: because she was the mother of all the living.

That is just one example of how the Bible tells us of the REAL PRESENCE OF JESUS IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST.

JESUS IS THE BREAD OF LIFE.

LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

"And do not correct me..." - Sounds like someone doesn't want the answers just to be an intolerant prick! Grow up, get a life and start actually living it. It's obvious you don't have one if your spending it putting others down.

Well if you would actually read the bible... it could actually teach you things about life... it will give you peace of mind. As they say.... why reinvent the wheel?
