"The first declaration of independence for

This triggered a war between Texans and Mexico (Not the US, once again it was the people living there that wanted no part of Santa Anna's dictatorship)

The conclusion of the war resulted in the creation of the Republic of Texas. The Republic was never recognized by the government of Mexico, and during its brief existence, it teetered between collapse and invasion from Mexico. Texas was annexed by the United States of America in 1845, and it was not until the Mexican-American War that the "Texan Question" was resolved.

I see nowhere in this where the US "stole" anything. seems to me the US rescued Texas.

Stupid word limits....grrr.

The first declaration of independence for modern Texas, by both Anglo-Texian settlers and local Tejanos, was signed in Goliad on December 20, 1835.

Translation the people living in Texas (both European and native) didn't want to be part of Mexico.

Kobaincito, you do remember that the U.S. BOUGHT the land from Mexico for $15 million through the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which Mexico signed and took the money. Who's the uneducated now, idiot?.

"Mexicans are the best", actually the kind of idiots I know are the ones who can't find the Caps Lock on the keyboard such as you. I'll try to teach you in words even you can understand: It is located on the left end of your keyboard, right next to the "A" key. Yeah, that's right, those keys with the little letters on top of them?. Good, now with your index finger press it, and your typing will no longer look like it was made by some clinically declared braindead.

Midcentury, Me thinks you should take your own advice and tell the whole story yourself, General Antonio López de Santa Anna abolished the 1824 constitution and established a new constitution that attempted to centralize power. The new centralist constitution enshrined the Siete Leyes, which included secular reforms but granted additional powers to the president, such as the power to close congress and suppress the judiciary. So yeah, that's what got the people in Texas and many other states all riled up, not because of slavery. So they, along with several other states including San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Durango, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Yucatán, Jalisco and Zacatecas rebelled against Santa Anna.

And in any case, the reason for the treaty taking place; be it slavery or revolution, doesn't change the fact that it was discussed, agreed and signed upon by both concerned parties, so it doesn't change its validity. Talk about grasping at straws.

It is always so cute when someone defends the concept of "Aztlan", because such an entity never existed.

I should bake them some cookies so they can sit in corner and let the adults talk for a while.

If the supporters of Aztlan think portions of the United States rightfully belong to them, then they have three options:
1) offer to buy the land from the United States
2) try to take the land by force
3) get over it

Obviously, I doubt they could afford option 1.
I would like to see them try option 2--what a disaster that would be!

That leaves option 3.

Kob must be French (raising white flag), lol. That's what happens in war when you actually fight. It's funny how the concept of acquiring territory through war has been around for how long? But it is different if the United States has done it in the past. That's all I hear is about how the US invaded New Mexico and took it. Why don't you research about the Romans or the Persians, this method has been around for centuries why should it be any different for the United States, only the strong survive.

You left many details out....Like for example, Mexico allowed Texans to live in the land, these people were NOT Mexican citizens, and Mexico didn't kick them out, but allowed them to stay....It was when they started bringing in slaves, that Mexico objected....Since these racists had to have their slaves, Mexican govt. objected and this is when the conflict started....It was because these people DID NOT respect the sovereign laws of Mexico, that didn't allow slavery, it was against Mexican law....So see, the roots of this country, slavery, was what started the conflicts and since this country had to have its slaves, free labor, it caused a war between Texas and Mexico....Tell the whole story, next time....

As far as Atzlan, it was only the Aztecs who created this vision.....And its roots are in Mexico City....People in Mexico, don't buy into this myth, and many don't even agree that the southwest belongs to Mexico, they are over it....Its the Chicano Movement, that has adopted this silly theory....NOT Mexicans....

you forgot the fourth options, Texas, New Mexico and California as we speak are minority majority states, which means white are no longer the majority in those States. in 43 year most of the southwestern states are not going to have an Anglo majority, when that happen white flight begins, (not one shot being fired)
You best get use to that!!

Answer: OUTSTANDING! Or how common of you to remember history that Mexico did not cross the Rio Grande until 1712.
Truth, history, much less education or honour have anything to do with the State sponsored Invasion of criminal illegal aliens intent upon colonizing a country of their betters! (I added that last for effect!)
