I work in a big book store and sometimes see people in there in there socks looking at books and reading. I thought that it was a pretty good idea so I figured I would give it a try. Do you think I should just show up for work without any shoes on? Or do you think that would be unwise? It looks super comfortable.

The safe way to go would be to ask your supervisor first. I agree that it's probably a lot more comfortable to just wear your socks at work than to wear shoes all day, but in some places the bosses really don't agree on that appearance, so better check with your boss first. :)

I don't think these people go to the bookstore without shoes, they just take them off when they get there. You can take your shoes off at work, maybe if you're the boss. If you don't have a foot odor problem and you don't mind looking like a slacker, do it.

The paper in the source has lots of arguments for going fully barefoot in places like work, school, etc, but I think you can use a lot of the same arguments for convincing your boss/colleages to allow socked feet too.

You'd probably get fired. Companies want their employees in shoes so they won't step on something, get hurt, and then sue the company.

umm i think you shoudl ask your boss before hand, u dont want to be embarassed and feel stupid. get the okay before hand. wear flip flops if u want to be comfy.
