I didn't bother me in the least! I thought it was very thought provoking. In my opinion, Say Jesus was married and had a child...well, thats not a sin. And he still fufilled his destiny to be our Savior so, it doesn't change that He's still Lord and Savior, and even more so that he was a perfect man!
Think about it, if he was married and didn't mess up and step out of his perfection...WOW!!! I don't know any man married who has never messed up (even it be just a little mess up.) So even more reason to adore him and love him and strive to be like him!
Personally I don't think that he was married and had kids because it is not in the Bible. But "The Da Vinci Code" was very thought provoking and quite interesting if I do say so myself! Christians who are stuck in "religion" are the only ones getting butt hurt over a movie!
I know my Jesus and I know that be he married or not He is still my Savior and Lord!

It's darn good fiction.
Dan spins a mystery almost as well as the much-beloved Agatha Christie.
Only an idiot goes looking for Hercule Poirot...and only a complete fool believes that the Da Vinci painting is anything but a painting.
Why would anyone worry about a work of fiction based on a painting done centuries after the men in it were dead?
It's nothing but alot of hype, and it will soon pass. I don't worry about it.

The only reason that a Christian might find it offensive is when people actually buy into that stuff. Dan Brown wrote a book to make money, and continues his charade of secretes and cover ups. Its funny that people can believe his mockery of history and reality but don't accept the bible.
Other wise it's just a bad story... although the movie was worse.
Even the History Channel, which is in no way a friend to Christians, produced a show that exposed the false premises and outright lies in the book.

I don't find it offensive really. But he doesn't put forth any theories that are convincing.
For a religious idea to be convincing to me, it must be grounded in some sort of tradition. Dan Brown made up information to put into the DaVinci Code to prove his points. He made up information about what texts say, the languages they were written in, and what the meaning of the texts are. He used the name of famous Gnostic texts to help support his theory and quoted parts - then added his own words in.
Some great "theory" after all...no?

It's a novel, and a just-okay one at that. I found parts of it really riveting but other parts tedious. I think he misrepresents art, architecture, and history more than once though.
I do leave it as fiction, and nothing more. I studied history in college and can safely say that this novel is 100% make-believe. It does draw on some old traditions and beliefs, but he twists them so much to make them fit into his plot that they hardly resemble accurate history.

It is a very convincing book but Dan Brown admitted that it was all fiction.

The Da Vinci Code is just a fictional tale that blasphemies Jesus (peace be upon him) in many ways. I think that it is sinful to make up lies about the Messengers of Allah (peace be upon them.) Allah (God) knows best!

if you are well-read, and if you know history WELL ENOUGH, you know dan brown got all his facts wrong.
even non-religious historians think he is really stupid.
please dont tell me you are believing in him...................
EDIT:::: yes... the whole book is FICTION. the historical artefacts he described were inaccurate. the events that took place in his book never took place in history. the so called proofs he had, were taken out of context, or mixed with other context. his book is a THRILLER, a made-up story.
