I would first go to Carnivals site http://www.carnival.com/FindCruise.aspx and look around, for the most part they tend to have the best deals, and have high quality food and staff, with lots to do. then I would compare to http://vacationstogo.com/

you will find that the 4 and 5 days may be cheaper than the 3. the 3 are on the weekends so less vacation time is needed.

and where well Nassau seem to be a popular first time pick, it is nice but I would suggest a western Caribbean, to Cozumel and Grand Cayman, or something similar. However Grand Cayman's Stingray City is one of the best.

If you are looking for a cheap but nice cruise line, I suggest Carnival. They offer cheaper rates, but all the same ammenities of more expensive cruise lines. Carnival also offers more 3-5 day cruises from a variety of ports. You could pick your cruise by looking at which port is closest to your home. Check out Carnival.com to search for the cruise that best suits your needs. You could also contact a travel agent for extra help and possible discounts.

Depends where you are located...
Sometimes 7 or 8 night cruises are cheaper than shorter ones!

The best prices that I have found overall are from www.cruisequick.com.

HOWEVER they do not hold your hand. What I mean is that you need to know what cruise you want, what ship, date and category. You cannot call them, they do not answer a phone.

They are internet based only, completely legitimate, and offer a bonus or discount that most other agents don't offer.

They work on a flat fee profit and are completely automated.
They do answer emails promptly.

Their site explains how they work. I have used them for years, without any problems. They offer free price quotes via email that include all port fees, taxes etc.
Happy Cruising !

Check Royal Caribbean, they have 3 night cruises in January from $189, and 5 night cruises starting at $350. I would try a Caribbean or Mexico itinerary.

For cheapest, I would suggest Royal Caribbean or Carnival.

If you like to party and go to the beach, I would pick an itinerary that stopped in Nassau, Bahamas. You need to bring cash (or a credit card) if you want to drink alcoholic beverages or soda on the ship.

Do you know which port you want to leave from? That can narrow down your choices.

You could also check the Boards at www.cruisecritic.com. Full of lots of useful information and you can also ask questions and find ship reviews.

3-5 days is too short. just booked my 5th cruise on the Norwegian Sun setting sale Feb 16, '08. Ports of call: Miami; Roatan; Belize City; Cozumel; Great Stirrup Cay. price was just reduced and got a free catagory upgrade of an ocean view stateroom with a balcony. per person is $779 (not inluding taxes, port charge, air) and we each get a $75 on board credit.

i feel that cruising is worth every penny!!!

Hey, go to Carnival.com and check out the Eastern Caribbean. My mom just came back from a 5 day cruise going to Half moon cay, Grand Turk and Nassau. She said Half moon cay and Grand Turk were the best ports of call ever. Just check it out, I'm already booked!!!!

Introduction
Cruise lines, one of the fastest-growing segments of the travel industry, offer a wide variety of interesting destinations and activities for all ages.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Steps
1Step OneDeal with a cruise-only travel agent or an online agency that specializes in cruise vacations. They are more likely to have access to specials and cruise deals.
2Step TwoDecide where and when you want to cruise and the port you want to embark from. There are Caribbean and Asian sails nearly year-round. Alaskan cruises take place only in the summer, as do most cruises in Europe. Trips through the Panama Canal take place in spring and fall.
3Step ThreeDecide who will be joining you on the cruise. Families have different needs and entertainment requirements than singles or couples.
4Step FourOutline the activities that appeal to you: ports of call, shore excursions, onboard facilities and amenities.
5Step FiveDecide if you have a preference about ship size. Large ships have more entertainment choices, while small ships have a more personal approach to service.
6Step SixDetermine your budget. Cruise lines give discounts for early bookings. You can also affect your costs by altering cruise dates, the length of your cruise and the region you sail to.
7Step SevenAsk about the typical age group of those sailing on a particular line or ship. This can help you determine whether you'll be compatible with your fellow passengers.
8Step EightChoose the level of formality you prefer. Some ships demand formal or business attire at certain dinners. Other ships cater to vacationers who want to wear only casual clothing.
Tips & Warnings
Be aware that port fees are often not included in advertised prices. They can add significantly to your cruise costs.
Budget for tips to shipboard waiters, room stewards and service personnel. Ships often have suggested amounts, depending on the length of the cruise.
Pack light. Getting on and off ships is not as easy as picking up your luggage at the airport.
Bring along toiletries, film and sunscreen. They can be quite expensive onboard.

Try these sites. I would suggest a lot of research and we don't know what city state you are in. Thanks.
