Ah, Sugar...I believe that the keyword in your question is "Dissed." You should get out more. I have and I haven't found anybody who does like it.
Reporting is a bit extreme, but so are a lot of people at Y!A. And, unlike Christians, it's tough to find an atheist who thinks that God commands him to censor anyone who disagrees.
I prefer to take the disrespectful to task myself and I think that's how people should be.
I do report at least one person a day, but always for spamming which is to say a post where people some one disses the entire Y!A community by proselytizing, or posting a commercial or political ad without addressing the question.
Yeah, Yeah. I know. It wouldn't be an obsession if it wasn't more important than whatever somebody else is talking about, but it's really disrespectful not to at least write a sentence or two on point before going into your rant.
I would never delete anyone who was on point and disrespectful. It's too much fun to take them to task at length.
I'm not going to apologize for whoever deleted your post, because they probably don't feel sorry about and should be horsewhipped on general principles.
I think I should point out that I'm an anostic myself, just in case you learn enough to make the distinction someday.

Who wouldn't be offended when dissed and disrespected? There are all kinds of people here insulting each other, not just atheists. Atheists get plenty of insults dished out to them here too.
When someone goes too far with being disrespectful and spreading hate of another group, I report them, even if I'm not in the group that is being picked on.
People should really stop picking on each other over differences in beliefs and just live and let live.

People get offended when they get diss'd. That's human nature. I reserve the "report" button for serious offenses. Like calling someone a curse word, threatening a person, or writing harassing e-mails. Just stating an opinion, no matter how wrong I feel it is or how offended I get, is not grounds for reporting people. Lots of times, I don't even feel that's grounds for a "thumbs down"!

isn't calling all atheists self loathing generally a bit like some atheists calling christian literalists knuckle dragging, mouth breathing ignoramuses, surly a hurtful generalisation? and maybe they didn't report you for feeling insulted but for your lack of accuracy. a recent survey found that the happiest people in the world were the icelanders and scandanavians, the most secular and atheistic nations in the world.

Sorry that you got reported, it happens to the best of us.
Regarding your comment, if you think about it, it is quite rude.
You have the inclination to call me self loathing, because you are completely misinformed. Unfortunately you have been lied too by people that shouldn't lie. Ministers and bible teachers, love to tell the flock that Atheists are poor sad people who have nothing to live for. They couldn't be farther from the truth.
I am sorry that you were deceived by people claiming to be Godly, but if you think about it, would Godly people go around calling others names?
As an atheist, I have allot to live for. I understand that life is short and extremely valuable. I am not waiting for an afterlife that might exist. Some unfortunate people believe that one needs a belief in an afterlife to have purpose in life. This is a very sad existence, because it causes them to waste their lives trying to achieve perfection, or trying to find the will of God. This leads them to disassociate from family members and friends. It causes them to tell others that they will burn for eternity for not believing the same things that they do.
It causes them to ignor the wonders of the natural world through science and stops them from learning. It is a shame.
Self Loathing occurs when someone decides that they are so vile that God had to kill his son as a replacement sacrifice for their existence. They believe that by being born, they inherited sin and are so evil, that if they don't get to know the Son, then there is a God who will torture them for eternity writhing in pain as payment for being created in a sinful world.
Self Loathing doesn't include people who take responsibility for life and understand that finding purpose and a reason for existence is completely up to them. Those people are empowered and not even close to self loathing.
The next time someone religious tries to tell you about someone who is not, think about what they are saying. 9 times out of 10 it is a direct lie.
Don't get too upset about reports, they happen, especially if you make people think.
Have a great day and don't drink the cool aid.

I only report completely irrelevant spam (like the chocobo blue willow story), and long streams of curses, which are usually atheist or at least pretend to be. I have not once reported a pro-christian post... but apparently it happens. Hey, we're at least as varied a group of people as you are...

Everyone on here gets dissed. Atheists are no different in this than theists. And theists have a nice history of reporting everyone. So suck it up, darling.
And the only thing I've ever reported was somene asking for money.

Reporting is evil. It should never be used in a semi-discussion forum like this, where opinions are polarised.
Please don't retaliate - it just makes everything worse.
I'll star you as compensation, and apology on behalf of the culprit.

Well, I think just about everyone here gets offended when they are "diss'd." And who could blame them?
Yes, SOME atheists here are disrespectful...but I've found most of them to be intelligent, witty, kind people.

I didn't know self loathing was a diss. Perhaps you got reported because only religious people are self loathing.
I don't remember any atheist self-flagellation organizations.
