the verse is Ephisians 6:11-17
11Put on the full armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.

12For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and the ruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.

13That is why you must take up all God's armour, or you will not be able to put up any resistance on the evil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the full.

14So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,

15wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace

16and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the Evil One.

17And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.

I have had a ton of teaching on this scripture. I always put on my Armour. Have you ever noticed that it does not protect your back? That is because the Lord is our rear guard.

When you have on the Armour satan is confused. He thinks you are Jesus. It is a mighty weapon.

Just remember that the weapon(the sword of the spirit which is the word of God) can be used two ways--to cut and slash and do repairable damage or to cut like a surgeons scalpel to bring healing. Be careful with it.

For my understanding is we should always put on God's armour to resist devil's temptation.
This armour consist :
Belt of Truth - Able to listen to the truth (for the Lord is the truth and the way)
Breastplate of Righteousness - Live in righteous
Shoes of Peace - Every step you move will be in God's peace and mercy
Shield of Faith - Faith in the Lord in everything we do, therefore will not be defeat by devil easily.
Helmet of Salvation - Brain is the whole function of the body, if your brain is damage to whole body will not be able to function or work, that why we need this Helmet to protect our lives and Salvation belong to the Lord.
Sword of the Spirit - Sword referring to the words (Gospel)we must always be tactful, and apply the God's words in our life so that the devil will not come to"steal, rob and destory" us.

Do I answer your question?

It says put on the full armor. So everyday I pray it on. Years ago when I didn't pray it on, I would feel beat up at the end of the day.
Notice that only the sword is an offensive weapon. And having done all to stand, STAND. This shows the battle is the Lords. If we have on the Lords armor, then who do we look like? I hope this gives you some food for thought!

The armor of God is truth v14, righteousness 14(breastplate), 15 the gospel, 16 faith and the 17 word of God. These are our armor to protect us from the evil one in 'spiritual' battles. The only 'offensive' weapon is the word of God, as Christ used in the wilderness. The firey darts of the wicked give the picture of ancient battle where arrows/darts were dipped in pitch/tar and ignited before being thrown.... (the shield of faith) illustrates the battle shield, often covered in leather strips and dipped in water (symbolic of 'the word' in scripture) which, when soaked, would put out the firey darts.

The book of Ephesians can be somewhat divided into three parts, SIT, WALK, and STAND. The first part explains how Christians presently sit with Christ in the heavenly places, a place of spiritual safety. The second part shows how Christians are to walk in the world in which they live. The third part shows that Christians are in a huge spiritual battle with the devil, and it shows how we are to wage warfare against the devil. We are to stand and face him, with armor on. Paul, who wrote this book, likened the Christian's armor to that of the Roman soldier. The Christian armor is for spiritual warfare, not war as we see in the headlines. Each piece of the armor Paul describes has its own use in resisting the devil. Each piece is necessary to live a victorious Christian life. This is all so very true, as any devout Christian can tell you. We are indeed in a spiritual war...and we need those weapons.

very interesting and encouraging verses written by Paul while he was arrested and kept under heavy security. God revealed him through the appearance of the gauding soldier's (i guess) armours.

But the armour that promised to us are spiritual and can never be taken out or seen by any body even the devil. but with full or strength and might. Better use it man..

The apostle Paul uses the imagery of a soldier putting on his armour to illustrate the importance of Christians girding for spiritual battle.

This is an important scripture. I use it without hardly thinking any more.

There are evil forces that work against all humans to keep them separate from God, and to keep them from knowing the power that they truly have through the Holy Spirit.

I believe that most of this battle goes on in our minds and you can see that in Paul's analogy most of the things mentioned are attitudinal.

Know the truth about who you are in Christ. , keep yourself morally clean, especially when no one is looking. Study to show yourself approved of God and be prepared to share the gospel, at all times-St. Theresa of Avila said

"Preach the gospel at all times, when necessary use words"
Next, knowing who you really are in Christ, act on it, believe it-this is the shield of faith. lastly protect your mind with the knowledge from the Word of God. It will protect you, shield you and fight for you!

That is the only battle between me and going to Hell. Will you fight for your rights to believe as you choose? What if it means crucifixion? Who will save the savior?
