People who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior have the power of Jesus in them.

When I rebuke the devil, I always put on the armour of God and then OUTLOUD call on the power of Jesus to send him away. That doesn't mean that satan won't come back and try again(he is a stubborn little critter) but he will leave. If you are consistant in your rebukes he will finally leave that particular aspect alone, but be prepared, he will find something else. His job, as given to him by God, is to pester us. God desires that we love Him enough to standfast.

I will pray for your victory in this matter. God bless.

Throw some salt over your shoulder.

If you're superstitious enough to worry about a "devil" when God is **infinitely** more powerful, and could vaporize the critter in an instant with a snap of His fingers, then you might as well go all the way.

Following scriptural examples is always the best method. When Satan tempted Jesus by offering him "all the kingdoms of the inhahited earth nd the authority over them," in Luke 4:5-8 it says "You, therefore, if you do an act of worship before me, it will all be yours." In reply Jesus said to him: "it is written, It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service." There is a lot to learn in these verses. Firstly that Satan is real and that he is really in control of earth's rulership. Further Jesus was without sin, so therefore he could not be tempting himself, nor fighting with his sinful inclinations. Secondly he knew what Satan was offering him was out of harmony with God's will for him and he knew the scriptures to support that, by saying "It is written"., the more we know the scriptures and obey them the more we rebuke the devil. It's easier to not give in in the first place than to have a taste of something, as it were, than give it up afterward. Thirdly, he viewed obedience to Satan as an act of worship, so therefore on the otherhand an act of obedience to God is also viewed as worship as well. We must develop a sensitive bible trained conscience, this will help us to be obedient to God, quick to dismiss wrong thoughts that we may have and another MUST HAVE is advice given in Romans 12:2 which says "And quit being fashioned after this system of things, but BE TRANSFORMED BY MAKING YOU MIND OVER, that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God." The more we are thinking God's thoughts and obeying them the less influence the world (or this system of things) will have on us. I wish you success. Treat each day as it comes and endeavour to remain loyal to God day by day and then it wont seem overwhelming. Remember God doesn't look for us to fall, but he is overjoyed by our genuine desire to please him. Remember Jesus died for sinners NOT perfect people because there is not one! One last thing, if your wondering why Jesus didn't wont the rulership of the world at that time, or how Satan managed to have such huge authority in the first place, ask!

If you're looking for some particular wording to use, to help you thoroughly rebuke the devil, I like the "Renunciation of Satan and Claiming the Full Victory" from the St. Padre Pio Center for Deliverance Counseling.

"I claim the full victory that my Lord Jesus Christ won on the Cross for me. Having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross" (Col. 2:15) His victory for me is my victory.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I renounce all the workings of Satan in my life in all its forms, whether brought into my life by my actions or by others. I break all attachments, ground, curses, spells, and rights Satan may have in my life whether such ground was gained through my actions or through others. Strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I ask you Lord to command Satan and all his minions, whomever they may be, to get out of my life and stay out. With that authority I now take back the ground in my life gained by Satan through my sins. I reclaim this ground and my life for Christ. I now dedicate myself to the Lord Jesus Christ; I belong to Him alone. Amen."

Hello, London Girl:

Jesus could rebuke Satan because He was sinless and one with God.

However, Doctor Luke tells what happens when a presumptuous person challenges Satan: Acts 19:15

"And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
19:16 "And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded."

So, make certain your heart is right with God before you challenge Satan. In fact, Satan worshipers dangle and belittle crosses, sing from Church hymnals, and misquote scriptures.

An example of this is in Roger Morneau's biography. Well worth the reading as you see high-level spirit worship in action at:

Begin by knowing that such nonsense is a control mechanism that snares gullible fools. Think free, there is no Devil.
