Isn't it when they start to feel the reins of power being pulled from their fingers that they are the most dangerous?

The problem is, I'm not sure the reins are being pulled from their fingers. Yes, that "last stand" mentality can be very dangerous. But we are not out of the woods yet on this. If the next presidential election does not finish them off, and I don't think it will, then whether they win or lose power in the short run, they can come back to haunt us.

Do not think for a moment that all you have to do to be rid of the fundamentalist power brokers is vote for whatever Democrat is nominated. If a Democrat is elected, they will have that outsider position that can blame every problem on the people in power and use the "we told you so" line to death. Once a fanatical group gets a foothold, only time and a lot of hard work will reduce them to a harmless fringe.

And to be blunt, there are plenty of things wrong with the Democrats, too. Personally, I intend to continue voting Libertarian and keeping current with Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

The writing on the wall as Hannah said was for Belshazzar. It read MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. Meaning God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. Thou art weighted in the balances, and art found wanting. Thy kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians. That night this prophecy was fulfilled and Belshazzar was slain and Darius the Median took control. So unless the "right wing fundies" have a kingdom that we are haughtily ruling and using the sacred items of God's temple for sinful uses at wild parties then no they have nothing to fear.

I have no power, so whatever is supposedly being taken away is not my issue. I'm glad I'm not in charge of power.

Mankind becomes intoxicated with power and greed. Though all power is with Allah (God), who bestows it upon whom He so wills. Allah (God) knows best!
