I'm short sighted, I can't see past 1 foot (about 30cm) without things becoming blurry and yet I haven't worn glasses for about 4/5 years. I know your eyes are connected directly to your brain so is it possible that by not wearing glasses I'm hurting more than just my vision?

The main problem with not wearing glasses for shortsighted people is the possibility of your vision getting worse. Why is this happening?

Shortsighted people have a tendancy to strain when trying to see distant objects and this strain can make your vision worse. If you are not straining when watching distant objects, than it won't hurt your vision - it may even help it.

Brain cannot be damaged by not wearing glasses, but it may affect you on your emotional and social level. Some shortsighted people may feel isolated from the world, because they don't see it, they also have a subconscious belief that they are not seen by anyone.

Take a look at this website. I believe it will help you see better without glasses and/or contacts:

Hope this helps!

I suppose plenty of ladies believe, in the event that they put on glasses, that the men will believe they're a complete geek. You would bear in mind the ancient pronouncing "boys are not making passes at ladies who put on glasses" Also, glasses usually make a individual appear extra wise and you know the way men have a tendency to be petrified of females who're wise. I am a man and I should not have any predicament with females who put on glasses, correctly many females appear tremendously attractive with glasses.

Yes the problems will come while attempting to cross the street. Or when attempting to read signs and you get lost this could be fatal. Other than that no.

It can lead to anything from stubbed toes to major trauma if you try to drive a car like that.

Why not wear your glasses? If it's vanity, try contact lenses. You're missing a whole world out here, and it's an amazing place, if you can only see it.

Headaches for one. Stress in eyes lead to many painful headaches, to the point of migrain, not to mention the damage done to your eye.
