a good tip for red wine stains is actually white wine.
Specially handy on a party. Dip your napkin in some white wine and the red stain should come right off.

Depending on the type of fabric of the dress, you might try peroxide. Nurses always use it to get blood stains out of their clothes, it is cheap and you should have it around the house. It should bubble the stain out, then wash as usual.

Good luck.

Use a product called Greased Lightning. It is available at Wal-Mart in the cleaners section. I have a child and believe me, it will take pretty much any stain out of anything. I even steam clean my carpets with it.

When I had wine spilt down a white dress..................a waiter ran over, stuck his hand up the front of my dress, excusing himself.....................just poured a bottle of soda water down the stain, got a clean bar towel, and rubbed the excess water off along with the stain, I really enjoyed the experience.............wonder if it would work a 2nd time!!!???
