According to verse 4:119-120, Satan (the rejected one) is the one who creates false desires and misleads people. Refer also 15:42. However, according to verse 16:93, it is God who leaves people astray as He wills! See also 4:78.

(4:119-120)
"I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires....." (says Satan)
"Satan make them promises and creates in them false hopes...."
(16:93)
"If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people. But He leaves straying whom He pleases and He guides whom He pleases ...."

I don't find any contradiction.

"If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people".
But Allah did not exercise this will. Instead, He gave us the choice to decide.

Allah's will for us is to use mind and knowledge to choose.

If we choose the way of Allah, or the way of Satan (both invite us to their way) we are exercising our WILL, which is the will of Allah i.e. Humans should follow Allah willingly, not by force (the inability to choose, as is the case with Angels).

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.

Insha'Allah, you have discovered one of the many contradicitons and errors in the Holy Qur'an.

Any and possibly every devout Muslim will tell you that there are not contradictions or errors in the Holy Qur'an however, any scholar who reads the same without a religious bias, will begin to point them out.

Another is that we are told that the angels were made from fire to be the servants of Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala and have no "free will", yet we are also told the Iblis, the rejected one, disobeyed Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala by refusing to bow to man. The only way from Iblis to have refused to boey Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala was if he had bben made and thereby give "free will".

Another chapter of the Holy Qur'an tells of a man who journeys to the end of the earth, to where the sun sets, and about who and what he found there.
They sun does not set. The earth turns!
There is no "end of the earth" as it is round. One traveling its entirity would simply end up back where he began.

Sadly, the Sunna Hadiths also contain many contradictions regarding many matters of practice of Islam.

Despite these errors and contradcitions, the Holy Qur'an did and does offer a wonderful social system that supports and promotes social welfare, equality of the sexes, ethic business and personal dealings, honorable manners for times of armed conflict, etc., just as many of the sayings of the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, his family and his followers, promote and teach love, compassion, kindness and the highest of ethical behaviors and conduct.

All books of revelation or scriptures, were written by human beings. Even if God delivered them to these humans, the humans still did the writing and conveying of the sme. Humans make mistakes. LIfe goes on.

Everyone needs to be honest in regards to religioin and the practice and promotion of the same.

Man misleads himself.

Ma'a salaam

Satan misleads everyone, he tries to mislead as much people as possible. But Allah only misleads those who refuse to believe. In the following Verse, Allah is talking about the people of Noah who refused to believe him. They were misleaded by Allah because they were not believeing in him at all.

[71:24] "They misled many. Therefore, let the wicked plunge deeper into loss."

As the verse say, "He leaves straying whom He pleases...", it doesn't mean God will mislead people. It simply means these people do not receive guidance from God.

Did you give the complete verse? I think not....

"If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but YE shall certainly be called to account for all YOUR actions."

God decides based on YOUR actions....

yes thats right.. both of them do.. but theres a difference.. Satan misleads all people.. Allah(swt) misleads who he wants , because he is the creator of this world, and he can do anything to his worshippers, if he wants to guide someone for doing a good deed, or if he wants to mislead someone for a bad deed.. its all in his hands.. but you dont have the right to object or anything, afterall, he created you!
